Pine Tree is actually pretty good so I give them props. On a brighter note we gave up 68 in the season opener last year and still won a title. On a worse note we have Chapel Hill and Kilgore the next 2 weeks. We could possibly open 0-3.

You will be fine either way. Is this a home and home or they going neutral site? We ended up having to make a deal with Brenham. Still not sure where those games will be played. 4 1/2 hours one way.

I hope by the Grace of God Carthage goes Region 3. Gilmer brings back a ton too. Hopefully they don't put us in the same district.

What about that Buckeyes defense tonight. They played great. That was a good hard fought game. Clean on both sides. Congrats to Bellville on a great season.

Carthage was not the juggernaut they have been. In reality they probably should have lost to PG. But luckily for us, we matched up way better with Carthage than we did PG.

I'm not going lie. The Silsbee game made me stand up and pay attention. Although, truly at that point, I thought it would be a Carthage/Bellville match up.

I will say this. We are not where I expected after the 1st night of the season when I watched Chapel Hill destroy us. The motto of this team this year is a word that I use every day at my work. I work for a Japanese company and I hear the word "Kaizen" every single day. That means "continuous improvement ". That is the battle cry of the Buckeyes and for this season it couldn't be more fitting. They have gotten better and more confident as the season has gone on. That is a testament to the players and coaching staff. They believe in themselves and now they have the whole town believing. We will all see how it turns out on Friday.

I would EXPECT you to to have confidence in your team. Just like we do ours. Jeesh

You are correct. Great game that we lost 31-28 launching Carthage to their 1st state championship. And we all know how that has progressed since then.

No that was 2008 in Regional Final. 2009 playoff run was Jasper, LaVega, Navasota, Cuero and Abilene Wylie. Good memories right there!!!

I'm sorry. It was our 2009 team that was in region 3. I stand corrected. That was when we played Cuero in the semis

We are 7-1 all time against region 1 teams (darn Sweetwater) and 8-1 all time in semi final games. 2014 we were in region 3 and had to beat Cuero in the semis. Generally if we can get out of our region we advance to the big game. Now winning the big game is a whole lot different. We are 3-5 in championship games.
