1. So far our members have them ranked: Any surprises or any club left off ? 1. PNG  63 2. Nederland 59 3. West Brook 57 4. Bridge City 33 5. WOS 22 6. Jasper 15 7. Evadale 10 8. Huffman 9 9. Kelly 8 10. Silsbee 6 10. LCM 6
 2. Good list. Evadale might stay there all year, alot of returnees. PNG did go a farther than anyone in 4A and they have key players returning plus a Div 1 pitcher. Let's get it going.
 3. Let's hope we can have some teams playing ball till June 11. Some dates to look forward to will be our first scrimmages which will start Feb.7th. That no hitter or HR doesn't count in the books till Feb.21. Let's use this thread for comments on the progress of your club. If we have anyone that wants to share some pics of the early workouts feel free to post them on this thread, it's not difficult just upload them to photobucket or imageshack, copy the url and place them here. Let's play two.
 4. That's great if he can get some PT as a freshman.
 5. Most coaches take someone with them, who will that be on Kirbyville's staff?
 6. I remember a Vanover at McNeese in the 70's, could this be the same person?

Just curious how they can play as a unit?     Following some of 2012's coming up, they definitley have some hitting, defense though would concern me.(defense killed them last year) The new sophomore pitcher from Tomball, still needs experience, although has some velo and secondary.     Still would at this time be carefull with Tomball, Lynch has a squad also. Whatever, it will be fun for all involved, and wish each team the best, I think Woodlands is still missing a middle infield, but has some big bats and some great pitching. Same ol same ol, there.    I like Westside, Lamar, Brenham, for greater Houston area, then secondary would be Westbury Christian, Woodlands, Tomball, Klein Collins, and maybe a Magnolia. Sorry, don't see a Golden Triangle team in it, but will listen or stand to be corrected. Lot of my opinions are based on top prospects, coaching, perpetual winners.  Maybe a Cy Fair team but no prospects there stand out presently. Corpus once again will be sending Calallen and Carrol and or Moody back to State.     Who is the real deal in the Triangle this year? Anybody to come see?
On paper Nederland in 4A is going to be tough. They might have the best shot at a long run from the triangle, but you can't count PNG out either. Both have some D1 signees, and more to come.
Will Nederland have enough pitching?
Nederland will have plenty of well rested arms. Of course losing Bellow (UT) and Laird (Lamar) will  be hard to overcome but Nederland is a pitchers park, defense wins games in Nederland.
How many of those arms have varsity experience? They can't play'em all at home.
50/50 for district games, out the door, catch up later this afternoon.

 10.
Preston Warner is now at Kelly. As a sophomore last year, he was West Brook's most effective and consistent pitcher. He beat 5A Regional Finalist Pearland with a complete game 3-hitter in the playoffs. Warner is 6'4" and has been verified at 88-89 mph (Pefrect Game, LSU, ...). He is playing on the Southeast Texas Sun Devils and has gotten great evaluations. Kelly plays in a tough baseball district with St. Thomas (Biggio) and Houston Christian (Mathis), but Warner should be dominate at this level also. Warner also plays the corner infield positions, and is one the best hitters in our area.
Thanks for the info BigMac. The kid has a great future.
 11.
What's the reason?
Supt says fraying of individual fibers in the white sections. The company admits they have had some problems, especially in the south due to heat and sunlight/ultaviolent rays.
 12. According to the Port Arthur News the two year old Turf needs replacing. Let's hope the guarantee that came with this will pay instead of the taxpayers having to absorb this.
 13.
admin how about the transfer's.... WOS - McCarsen left HJ transferred to WOS Nederland - Players everywhere on the roster, addition of Duplant(HJ transfer) LCM - soph Swan is gonna impact Pitching staff / Drouillard transferred there from WOS Lumberton - Townsend transferred back there from Kelly Kelly - Warner transferred there from Westbrook Then may have over looked, Vidor Bubba Maxwell, Armstrong, Tyler Kennon
Alot of players that will make a huge impact left off the above list of last years All-District returnees. Heard about the MaCarsen kid, just haven't seen it published or got verification. He should help the Mustangs. Coach Robbins has a nice problem at Nederland, players everywhere and Duplant can play, doesn't matter he was at the 3A level last year. The Swan kid has all the tools over at LCM, that outfield of the Bears will be hard to match, Carline, Gonzales and Drouillard. Griff has to find a SS, Vaughn might have to take over that position. Help me with the Warner kid from WB. Over at Vidor Bubba Maxwell is a player, signed at the next level and was left off the all-district picks last year. He can hit and get people out. No doubt Townsend will be in the rotation for the Raiders. They need to play defense and hit in the clutch, if that happens playoffs are not out of the question.
 14. Where did Coach Alvarez previously coach before Kirbyville?
 15.
Nederland is going to be very strong this year, they have incredible depth on that team.
Big shoes to fill with graduation of those two big lefty's in Bellow and Laird, but Nederland has plenty of arms. Stone can beat anyone over at PNG, but it looks like a traditional year. Ned, PNG, LCM, Vidor pick a spot for any of these with Lumberton the spoiler who could get in.
 16. Bridge City school superintendent Dr. Jamey Harrison will be leaving BCISD at the end of the school year. Harrison has taken an administrative position with the University Interscholastic League in Austin. He has been with the district since 2007. [Hidden Content]
