1. I'll update yesterday's games later but the Dodgers squeaked by Pirates 4-3, "brutal call at 1st" quoted by Pirates staff, Dodgers disagreed. In the nightcap, Angels just ran out of time and lost to the Mets 7-6.
2.
i believe the braves are also 2-0, according to the results
5/31 Standings Mets      3-0 Braves    2-0 Red Sox  1-1 Yankees  1-1 Pirates    1-2 Angels      1-2 Dodgers    1-2 A's          0-2

4. Coach Stone will be missed in the baseball community. He was a no nonsense baseball purist. As phatmack mentioned, his resume will be hard to touch. He brought Nederland twice to Austin, PNG once I believe. If you seen a team that was disciplined, played defense, and bunted runners over, then it was probably a Coach Stone team.
5. It was no secret that Coach Stone wasn't going to continue coaching till NRA, but many thought he would at least coach Austin till he graduates next year. Maybe he wanted to sit on the other side of the fence and watch as Dad, if so I can't blame him.
6. Bcgrad05, Joe and Luke played a huge part in BC's success the last 4 yrs, they are going to be missed greatly.
7.
would not be surprised if this series ends up being played back at Woodville and Nederland again....other than home and home...not really any other options besides going to Houston...Lamar shoulnt be available since theyre still playing
Jdawg, how was your experience in Nederland, ie. Internet , concessions, playing field and press box?
8. Big win, newspaper guy doing his job, Coach trying to speak to his players, let's don't look into something that's not there. Orangefield is the finals to State, let's enjoy it.
9. Both teams are very good, will represent the area very well at State. Can't wait to see this series.
10. Every few years players come through that really know the game and perform at the highest level in the most pressure atmosphere, these two showed how to play the game. I've been around awhile, Ty Parker of Jasper is in my top 5 of all-time high school players at the plate. If a young player wants to play the game of baseball like it's supposed to be played and could walk in his shoes for 7 innings, No.5 for Bridge City would be where I start.
11. Game 3 I would assume Coach Stone would give the ball to Reyenga today with Stone in relief. Who will Friendswood throw? Let's finish this series and move on.
12. Stone threw five I was told, I left in the 3rd. I believe a righty started, no 18. He struggled with his control, he was lifted for a lefty. How can you be 4 rounds deep, be up 1-0 in the series and lose 17-0?
13. Can't view but seen it live, great throw and block of plate by Parker. If Menard's missle is posted, that was close to 400 with no wind on a very muggy night.
14. Hicks had his stuff tonight, stayed at 88-90. Van wrote in above article he gave up 10 hits k'd 11, I remember just 5 hits for Jasper. Cardinals hit the ball hard all night, really put pressure on Jasper's defense. Two of the best catchers in this part of Texas with Menard and Parker behind the plate. Should be a battle in Nederland, I look for Sowell to start Gm 2.
15. Heard the chairs have been lined up since Wed in Woodville.

The Angels threw 7 innings of shutout ball, and if Svoboda wouldn't have been on pitch count might have been a no no. Angles are here to compete.
I see you picked up my buddy. He looked good?
Yes, nice pick up. He looked good, well on his way back. Where were you last night?
