1. Matt Hicks and Logan Johnson put on a show with Matt Menard capping a brilliant with a walk off homer. Hicks had 14 k's and gave up 4 hits, Johnson 11 K's and the the last batter he faced was Menard.
 2. Cody Pastorella The Port Arthur News PORT NECHES —  PORT NECHES — With the first pitch set for 7 p.m. at the Reservation, the winner of tonight's District 20-4A baseball matchup between the Port Neches-Groves Indians and Vidor Pirates will remain as the only undefeated squad in league play.   Both teams are 3-0 in district. The Indians,10-6 overall, have wins over Little Cypress-Mauriceville, Nederland and Livingston, respectively, while Vidor has defeated Central, Lumberton and Ozen.   In other area diamond matchups for tonight, Nederland baseball is hosting Central, Nederland softball travels to Lumberton and PN-G softball will play the Central Lady Jags in Beaumont.   While the Indians' resume is considerably better than the Pirates, PN-G boss Jay Stone says no team can be underestimated, especially Vidor because of southpaw pitcher Trae Hester, who is the named starter for tonight.   Hester is 4-0 on the season and already has 63 strikeout victims.   "He is, without a doubt, one of the top pitchers in the area and should probably be classified as one of the top pitchers in the state," explained Stone. "Anytime you have a young, lefty that has his velocity, heads are going to turn and for good reason."   But Stone added that his team is well prepared for this matchup.   "We've seen a number of lefties in the last couple weeks, going back to our last tournament (Lufkin). "I thought we did a good job against Kirby Bellow (Nederland ace) last week. He's another quality, lefty that has to be one of the best in the state. I think our guys probably gained some confidence from hitting him." read more > [Hidden Content]
 3.
Don't have to worry about BH leading in this category. The coaching staff does not believe in aggressive base running. I think the current SE Tx leaders have more stolen bases than the whole BH Team combined.
Since 1st post maybe missed the rules: 18 ) The bashing of any particular coach, player, referee, etc will not be tolerated. This includes issues involving their personal lives, coaching/playing style or performance, past experiences, etc
 4.
who will be throwin for LCM?
LCM staff all rested, probably Smith or Waddell? Who will the Lions throw?
 5. Maybe someone from Vidor can help us with probable batting order for Friday's big game. If no changes when PNG played Ned it would be for PNG like this PNG CF Jalai SS Stone LF Reyenga 1B Rhame P. Sweetenham RF DeRon 2B Denzlinger DH Freeman for C Provost 3B Gizzi
 6.
Joe Washington, Jr.  Whoever is in second place ain't even close.  If you don't believe me look at his video clips when he was at OU on youtube. Here you go: [Hidden Content] I heard a lot about Jeff Bergeron, but I never saw him play.
I spoke with Joe's father this week, Coach Washington, and we talked some football. I told Coach about our board and that I had posted this video that kountzer just posted a couple years back and asked him if he remembered the play. He immediately said "USC". I brought Kenny up, for you younger fellas, that was his other son who was a pretty dang good QB.  He thought Kenny was just as good overall athlete but Little Joe had the spotlight at the running back position.  He loves talking about the big crowds they played in front at TJ and cherished the great games with PNG.

 13. Orangefield vs West Orange-Stark Probable Starters: Anderson (WOS), Statum (OF) Both teams come into this 1st district game on a positive note. Our #4 ranked team in Orangefield is led by A&M signee Jace Statum and UT signee and possible draftee in MLB in Jacob Felts. Not surprising to most folks is the play of Quinton Evans who has been on a hitting terror for the whole year along with Sr 1B Chase Angelle. #10 WOS has proven they are playoff contender as Jordan Darnall has been clutch in game winning homers and pitched well. This team will compete with the Bobcats as Turley and Sparrow round out a core of quality players. Hamshire-Fannett vs Bridge City Probable Starters: Johnson (HF) Hicks (BC) BC our # 4 ranked team has re-loaded and led my 3 seniors, Robertson, Hicks and Rhodes. The Cards will start 4 sophmores, don't let that fool you as they have proven themselves. Forrest Zoch has pitched well and look for big things from soph catcher Matt Menard. Hamshire-Fannett has the nucleus of a playoff team in Kyle Markum, All-State players in Logan Johnson and Jake Minaldi. Hearing good things from a soph pitcher in Tommy Wendel. With Johnson on the mound the Horns will be tough to match up with. Who do you have in these matchups?
 14. Vidor will have trouble with Sweetenham as PNG with Hester. As most big games on Tues or Friday in district, defense wins the game.
