  4. Pete Rose by his performance on the field deserves to be in the HOF, but he broke the one rule that can't be tolerated. Pete will never see the gates of cooperstown, and that's pete's fault not baseball.
  5. Knox steals home in Nederland's win over Cranston By Ben Zimmerman There’s a reason that the greatest poker game in the world is named after Texas. And on an idyllic Wednesday evening at David Story Field, the boys from the southeastern corner of the Lone Star State showed everyone why. Hunter Knox stole home for Nederland’s first run, and Spencer Droddy’s perfect safety squeeze bunt in the fifth inning scored David Conley with the game-winner as the Southwest Regional champions nipped Cranston, R.I., 3-2 in the quarterfinals of the Babe Ruth 13-15 World Series. “That’s Texas baseball,†said Nederland third baseman Trent Fontenot. “We go out and take what we can get.†The victory eliminated Cranston and sent Nederland into the semifinals, where it will take on Tallahassee, Fla., at 7:35 p.m. Thursday. Tallahassee beat Nederland 4-2 in the semifinals of the 2008 14-year-old World Series, which everyone from Nederland remembers. “We’ve been waiting on it a long time,†Nederland manager Juan Rodriguez said. But just in case anyone had forgotten, Tallahassee rekindled the Texans’ thirst for vengeance at a barbecue held by Kelso residents Cal and Kim Miller on Saturday night. The Millers, who are hosting several players from Tallahassee, invited Nederland to join the fun at Saturday’s cookout. Several Nederland players commandeered the family’s ping-pong table, and were enjoying themselves when Tallahassee’s Gillis Langston showed up and issued a challenge. “He said, ‘Gimme the best you’ve got, and I’ll beat ’em,’†Rodriguez said. “So he beats a few of my guys. Then he beat me 21-16.†After he had stopped laughing hysterically, the Nederland skipper put on his best poker face. “We’re coming to get him,†Rodriguez said read more> [Hidden Content]
  6. Nederland playing great defense. I agree Bru, the 3rd base coach helped us. What about blue at 1st, he has blowned 2 calls, both causing runs.
  7. When your opponent calls time with a man at third and your batter is in the hole, don't you think something might be on?

  9. These announcers are pretty good. I don't know if you heard them the other day but they had to get more bandwith because of the people signing on. If I heard this correct they can tell how many are online and where they are from. They mentioned during the Nederland game they had just under 200 online watching from Texas ip address's.
  10. What kind of pitching limits do we have ie. innings, days rest and such ? I know we have none in Sr Babe Ruth.
  11. Bot 5 Centralia , WA 3 Longview, WA 1 Nederland will play next against Cranston, RI.
  12. I starting to think that every team in this district has a chance to make the playoffs. Does anyone agree with me?
  13. Heard today : 2009 Palomino World Series Championship was won by Houston (Kyle Champan) Tx 2009 Senior Little League Championship was won by West University LL, Houston Tx It would be nice if San Antonio, Tx LL pulls it off in Williamsport and Nederland's Babe Ruth can do the same in Longview Washington. A Texas sweep
  14. Nederland tops West Fargo; quarterfinals set By Rick McCorkle Nederland, Texas played flawless defense, and took advantage of a key West Fargo, N.D. error in the fourth inning to claim a 6-2 victory in the Babe Ruth 13-15 World Series on David Story Field on Tuesday. “That was a huge challenge for us to not make any errors,†Nederland coach Juan Rodriguez said. “We’ve had some errors in the last few games, but luckily we’ve come out on top in most of those games. We wanted a clean game going into the single elimination so we can set the tone and play a lot tighter defensively.†read more > [Hidden Content]
