  1. Nederland baseball makes all the right moves against Vidor By RYAN S. CLARK April, 4, 2009 Sometimes winning a close game comes down to making the right moves at the right times. In some cases, there just aren't any moves to make. Either way, Nederland baseball coach Cody Robbins made a few moves that worked out Friday as Nederland eked out a 4-3 victory over Vidor at Pirate Field in a District 20-4A game. The win gives Nederland a 5-1 district record, tying it with Port Neches-Groves for first place. As for Vidor, it falls to 3-3 and is in fourth place. Vidor led 2-0 heading into the fourth inning, but Vidor coach Kyle Green was forced to make a change after starting pitcher Trae Hester, a left-hander, was pulled because he had pain in his left shoulder. Green moved Hester to first base and Chad Sims to pitcher, and Nederland loaded the bases with two singles and a walk. Nederland cut the lead to 2-1 when Hester's sore shoulder prevented him from throwing a ball from first to home and Tyler Smith scored. read more > [Hidden Content]
  2. two good teams tonight. whitson from orangefield pitched well and hicks was hicks. i think the only earned run was luke rhodes home run. orangefield tightens the defense they will go far, bc needs some clutch hitting as they left at least 10 men on base.

  7. Received a call from a jv game tonight. It wasn't our local chapter but a team in our local district. The umpiring was so bad for both teams that the varsity head coach went on the field and had the umpires switch postion from home plate to field.

  10. No problem Coop, but a quote that controversial should be quotations.
  11. Coop, 7-6 not a big lead according to the thread. Silsbee can play.
  12. Of can swing the bat, silsbee is no slouch either. Will OF throw Whitson, Felts, Angelle or Peevy and save Statum for BC? We'll see tonight.
  13. Hardin-Jeff will beat some people in district, but HF just too much tonight.
  14. Two big wins against Nederland and Vidor on the mound and some timely hits.
  15. Bruce threw very well for Vidor, but I and most of the fans were expecting Sims to pitch. vidor pirate, what was the strategy on that move?
  16. Well played game. Didn't see anything classless by either team, if something happen on the field normally that stays on the field. CF for LCM Gonzales, made a great catch to save the tieing run in the 7th. Chaz Bruce pitched well for Vidor using his slider 90% of time. Dallas Brown pitched well for about 4 innings for LCM, hit a wall and Shane Waddell came in and finished the last 3. He pitched very well. Scott Vaughn of LCM took one the few fastballs of Bruce deep, Bruce answered with his own HR. Dallas Brown of LCM also homered.
  17. ....................Hit...........Pitch............Defense.........Intangible Ned................................X............................................... LCM.......................................................................x........ PNG...............x..................................x............................. How come Vidor and Lumberton isn't in this comparison? I couldn't find an x for them on the hitting, pitching, defense or intangible. So Simms or Hester can't pitch?....... WOW!!! Yeah, they can pitch with anyone in the area, but i feel nederland's defense make their staff a little stronger.
  18. That's good news Coop. When will you start announcing the Top 10 baseball on the news ? Maybe you have for the past 4 weeks but i've missed it.
