  1. By By LEE YOBBI March, 24, 2009 It was home sweet home in general for the West Brook baseball team Tuesday in a District 21-5A matchup at Bruins Field. But there was one area of the ball park that was particularly sweet. The Bruins both assaulted and protected the power alley in left-center field under a stiff breeze that blew straight out to left during an 11-0 West Brook win over Baytown Sterling. read more >[Hidden Content]
  2. DEER PARK -- Breanne Martin's dazzling defense and Natalie Hager's two goals moved Port Neches-Groves to unprecedented state playoff success Tuesday night in girls soccer read more > [Hidden Content]

  4. How many freshmen and sophomores are on varsity and who are they? How many freshmen and sophomores are starters? Last night Nederland started: sophmores; 3B Trevor Sonnier, 2B Stephen Schlett, RF Tyler Smith, C Anthony Babino
  5. Gabriel Pruett The Orange Leader LITTLE CYPRESS — A total of 128 pitches was enough from Nederland’s Kirby Bellows for coach Cody Robbins. It was probably enough for the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears as well. Bellows went 6 2/3 innings and struck out 13 Bears in a 7-4 win over LC-M at Don Gibbens Field. The Bulldogs are now 6-7 on the year and 2-1 in District 20-4A play while the Bears dropped to 11-9 overall and 2-1 in the district standings. read more > [Hidden Content]

  7. I think you would change your mind if you saw Cuero play. #1 in 3A? You could debate that. There are some good teams out there. But they are not imposters. They are a good team. I would probably agree with the scout who said there are no Div 1 players on their team. How many D1 players are there at the 3A level. 4? 5? I know of 3. (Brooks from Taylor-UH; Wacha, Pleasant Grove and Miller, Brownwood-A&M) But Cuero has at least 5 (one of them a junior who likely will choose a football scholarship over baseball) and possibly two more who will be playing college ball somewhere. That is a good 3a team. You could be right about any 21-3A team making the playoffs in 28-3A. There are no other teams to challenge Cuero in that district. But Cuero is 14-1 and hasn't played a district game yet. They are 3-0 vs. 4A, won the New Braunfels Canyon (4A) Tournament, and gave a private school John Paul II, their first loss of the season. I have seen them play and they are the real deal. Gwood thanks for your input. i've read your baseball post on other boards about the high school teams across the state and i must say your one of the best. don't be a stranger on this board.
  8. Would love to add some of these teams into top 10. I've seen barbers hill and crosby and that's it. Where do we put KP ? I like Crosby, competed well in LCM tournment, where do they fall? Does Goose Creek or Dayton beat these top 10? Let's hear it.
  9. heard coach anderson was there earlier, he might be throwing up himself if he's still around.
