  1. not yet. The guy making the claim stated he talks with coach Danaher and informed him of the job. His posts have since been removed. The person who posted it removed them himself. Might be trial balloon, if the 3 that make the cut don't pan out, he would think I have an interest.
  2. SFA85, I might not look as good as the former Bumble Bee baseball coach in uniform, but I can still hit fungo, and make it to 3rd base coach's box before my runner gets to 2nd. So, don't forget about me.
  3. OK, with Memorial, PNG and LCM wide open, I'm getting a little worried about our OC Monte Barrow. LCM might just raid that oc from wos.
  4. Since Coop want research because it's baseball, I called Time Warner. No additional fee per them. Also, MLB network will carry 26 games this year. Guess who will be anchor, Harold 'lawsuit happening" Reynolds. I liked when he called the LL World Series. I remember a little about the lawsuit. What are the circumstances? I like Harold as a analyst, he was dumped by ESPN for sexual harassment.
  5. Port Arthur News New athletic director Andrew Boutte has chosen a replacement for Coach Ronnie Thompson in a sudden move, the News has learn. With so many openings lately, ie LCM, PNG and probably more to come, Coach Boutte grab a talent that is unmatched by local standards in former great gridiron star and internet guru, SFA85. " We have a great nucleus coming back and I look forward to this opportunity" SFA85 said. The only stipulation SFA85 has requested from the Memorial school board is bringing his offensive coordinator, Scooter. "We go back a long time and I trust Scooter" SFA85.

  7. Smith had ice water in his veins, great stuff. Sad to hear. His locker was next to Kerfield, that was a job in itself. Smith was known as the biggest tipper on the club.
  8. Many times your big time names will not submit to the last moment until they know they will make the cut and then pull it at the last moment if they aren't chosen.
  9. Singer Mindy McCready, who had affair with former Yankee Roger Clemens, apparently attempted suicide By MICHAEL O'KEEFFE AND CHRISTIAN Roger Clemens' long-time gal pal was hospitalized Wednesday after an apparent suicide attempt, police in Nashville said [Hidden Content]
  10. LCM you need to stick with volleyball, which I've never seen you post one time about that sport.
  11. Us in the sports community know and respect Coach Hooks and Coach Thompson for what they have done for WOS football. But it seems the school district or school board seems to forget. TD has to take up himself to fix the sign, the turf is voted down and now they take the buses away.
  12. Some good names on this list, but WOS might hang a carrot to Coach Crouch, like it might be yours if you stay around. He has a record of orchestrating the most explosion offense in Mustang history. Coach Alvarez's trip to state finals gives him a leg up also, moving from 2A to 4A hard to pass up.
  13. it sounds to to me the board has received from either local taxpayers or higher ups from austin to shape up the district finances or else, if not we are on the way to do it for you. this suitation of the kids getting a ride might be a smoke screen to protect a few.
  14. Why would any student leave because of transportation, according to this thread Newton would be the only other choice for a ride.
  15. I can understand both sides of this argument. The board voted 6-1, which tells me they must have polled their constitutes. We know the scores of the students have been a challenge and this is with a ride home for academics an athletes. Do we see the scores in the future having an impact down the road in a more negative way?
  16. Jay Stone (Head Baseball Coach) can be the AD. He has his Masters. That's the most intelligent post I've seen in awhile. He would be great for PNG.
  17. Ok, PNG and LCM. Below were the applicants for the LaMarque job last year. I would venture those applicants would not have considerd a high profile job like LaMarque without the confidence of actually receiving it. Also check the date they released this. La Marque releases names of AD applicants From staff reports The Daily News Published March 16, 2008 LA MARQUE — Nederland head coach Larry Neumann and former Santa Fe head coach Joe Krauskopf are among 34 applicants for the vacant athletic director and head football coach job at La Marque High School, according to a list sent by La Marque ISD on Saturday. Neumann has been the head coach at a pretty stout Nederland program for 15 years. Krauskopf, currently an assistant at Ball High, compiled a 38-53-2 record in his eight seasons as the Indians’ head coach. He led Santa Fe to its first two playoff appearances, in 2002 and 2005. Bill Barron (Elsik), Lionell Crawford (Smiley), Mike Jackson (Chavez), Gary Mullins (Grapevine) and David Suggs (Nimitz) — all head football coaches at their respective schools — also applied. Former La Marque football assistant coaches Phillip Mattingly (Port Arthur Memorial) and Carnell White (Nimitz) have tossed their names into the hat as well. Former O’Connell head football coach Dimitri Gazelas also has applied for the job, along with Dickinson assistant Earl Ricicar, Ball High assistant Kenneth Foster and La Marque assistants Elliott Johnson and Earnest Lynch. Former La Marque players Jonathan Cooper, a Ball High assistant, and Ryan Silvertooth, an assistant at Pearland Dawson, also have applied for the job. La Marque is searching for a new athletic director and head football coach after Chris Jones resigned from those positions Feb. 15. He was hired by the school district on March 8, 2007, after an extensive search. The Daily News filed a request Wednesday for the names of the applicants for the current vacancy, as well as the names of those on the hiring committee for the search. +++ List Of Applicants For AD/head Coach Vacancy At LMHS Name, School Bill Barron, Elsik Claude L. 19. How to Pick Athletic Superstars at Age 1 By Dan Peterson, LiveScience's Sports Columnist "If you wait until high school or college to find out if you have a good athlete on your hands, by then it will be too late," he said in a recent New York Times interview. "We need to identify these kids from 1 and up, so we can give the parents some guidelines on where to go from there." [Hidden Content]
