  1. Dayton is the cream of crop. Besides WOS in 3A, our area is in a funk from previous years. IMO, we just aren't as good as in the past.
  2. What about the curfew though? My neighbor told me, we in Nederland have a 6pm to 6 am curfew tonight.
  3. Coop, you and your meteorologist buddies deserve a pat on the back. Nice job on the projection. [Hidden Content]
  4. Question for TD Since this was a mandatory evacuation for our area, will the homeowners policy cover any of the of hotel, gas and food cost?
  5. Hate to say it but it's a ratings war with national news stations. Nothing gets better ratings than the words FEMA, New Orleans, George Bush, Ray Nagin and breached levees. Here is a link for the latest in Mississippi, who seem to handle it's business. [Hidden Content]
  6. Geraldo is a nut case, he's on top of 9th street canal as it's being breeched. Correction: Corp says Geraldo wrong, no breach just spill.
  7. Any road closures, can people come back without any restrictions?
  8. Listening to Gov Jindal on Fox, I think we are going to be allright here in Texas.
  9. That sounds better, Hoop. The Fox meteorologist just said the reason High Island was added to Hurricane Warning was because Gustav was just closer to the coast, just a slight movement to the West.

  11. Allright Coop, take that WOS hat off and put that meteorologist hat on, I would like to keep my roof on.
  12. Greg is correct: This on another board: "The hurricane hunters have just reported a central pressure of 957 mb which is 3 mb lower than last advisory. Furthermore Gustav is looking better on the satellite imagery now. I am hearing the models are also shifting just a bit further west."
  13. We know Asa is #21 but someone give #9 some props, like his name.
  14. SciGuy A science blog with Eric Berger "At this time I know it's quite tempting to say southeast Texas can sound the all clear, especially the areas west of Beaumont. Yet tropical systems can surprise, and I want to see a couple more model runs before we can be certain Houston won't see hurricane-force winds. To do otherwise would be irresponsible. But we're getting close to that point. It's worth noting, however, that forecasters generally have an easier time with tracks of large, intense and fast-moving hurricanes like Gustav. So the forecast error for Gustav is probably a little smaller than the average error of about 80 miles." Link [Hidden Content]
  15. New Orleans Residents Are Ordered to Flee Hurricane By ADAM NOSSITER and SHAILA DEWAN NEW ORLEANS — City officials ordered everyone to leave New Orleans beginning Sunday morning — the first mandatory evacuation since Hurricane Katrina flooded the city three years ago — as Hurricane Gustav grew into what the city’s mayor called “the storm of the century†on Saturday and moved toward the Louisiana coast. 16. I thought Nederland contained the Mustangs pretty well the 1st half. The Stangs like to throw the hail Mary on 3rd and long, it didn't work much but they are very seldom in 3rd and long. I've seen alot of discussion about WOS playcalling, it was pretty good last night of what I seen. Big play was 3rd and about 12 near the Dogs 30 and a nice pass over the middle that was caught for a 1st down where only the receiver could have caught it. Also, goal line, QB went under center, couple of plays and TD. Maybe the spread will come around for the Dogs, hope it's not too late.
  17. bumper to bumper , winnie to houston right now, someone just texted me.
  18. SciGuy A science blog with Eric Berger "At this point I envision at least four possible scenarios, in order of most likely to least likely:" [Hidden Content]

  20. Coop, update us on evacuation calls for the counties please? Also, my rooms are in Austin, what is the latest I can leave using IH 10?
