  2. I thought kids from Orange county did play in the ANederland Babe Ruth league. :-\ TD Orange County does play in Mid County Sr Babe Ruth 16-18, Nederland Babe Ruth ages 13-15 has boundaries of Jefferson County. Both leagues are affiliated with Babe Ruth but are autonomous with different boards.
  3. We have received calls in the last few years from Orange County wanting to start a Babe Ruth league for the 13-15 yr old's since boundaries exclude that county. We can help guide you in the right direction if there is interest for an Orange County Babe Ruth 13-15 yr old league, just pm me. Orange County is loaded with baseball players in that age bracket, and with the Select organizations that ya'll have, it would be a perfect fit.

  8. Lake Charles just hit a lead off HR to tie it 7-7, LC has no outs.
  9. Bottom of 7th, Lamar leads Lake Charles 7-6, Lake Charles coming to bat.
  10. First, the league has been around for about 50 years. So, the 2 crowns we have in Little Babe Ruth (13-15), and 1 crown we have in Sr Babe Ruth (16-18) is not that many in comparison to the all the years we have been playing. Now, our leagues has been to World Series quite a few times, but to win it, everything must be in place. As far as the success, Southeast Texas is a baseball mecca. Football may get the lion share of the pub, but we are really a baseball community. When you take this best players on your tournament team from boundaries and play other leagues across America from their boundaries, we always can be competitive.
  11. Last night, Wilson entered the game in the top of the eighth inning with the Rangers holding a six-run lead over the visiting New York Yankees. Wilson threw 22 pitches … and was not impressive. He walked Bobby Abreu, hit Alex Rodriguez, struck out Xavier Nady, walked Robinson Cano, and then, with a 0-1 count, served up Richie Sexson’s 15th Career Grand Slam. And then it got ugly. Texas manager Ron Washington came in to yank Wilson before he could give the Yankees the keys to the stadium. As Washington made it to the mound, Wilson started to walk off the field and flipped the ball to Washington. Washington would have none of that. He stopped Wilson, gave him back the ball, and made him hand the ball back to him. Here's the video

  16. I remember when Glavine, Maddux, Smoltz would get 2 balls off the black, it wasn't a strike but they earned it. If Coach Hooks would suit them up tommorrow and intrasquaded the powers to be would give him those two balls off the black. He's earned it.
  17. Bruce is a confident one Posted by JohnFay at 8/4/2008 10:32 PM EDT on Cincinnati.com Jay Bruce understands why Dusty Baker dropped him from third to sixth with left-hander Manny Parra pitching. "Dusty doesn't have any evidence otherwise," Bruce said. "But I'll have no problem hitting left-hander. . . it's a matter of time." Bruce ended hitting a two-run homer off of Parra in the sixth. It was his 10th of the year and third in four games. "He's using the whole field," Baker said. "To hit a home run to left off a lefty is a good sign." Bruce is on an eight-game hitting streak. He's 10-for-28 (.357) with three home runs and five RBI. For the record, Bruce came in hitting .188 with no homers off lefties inthe 80 at-bats.
