  1. Coop, if Indian Chief doesn't already have his tickets, that headdress will have to be removed. Chief, with the new stadium did you have to be relocated?
  2. Been some lean years for the Dogs but still enjoy going to the football games. Use to enjoy watching other teams in the playoffs during the 80's, but Nuemann put a stop to that. As I age, the games are more of a social event at the beginning, then a coaching clinic under the stands at halftime, ie. what we would have done differently, then after the game it's what time do we tee off in the morning. As for as baseball, I support any team win or lose that have lights on.
  3. Game 3 has started, I'm back home but wishing we could have stayed for it. It's on ESPN right now. Every seat is taken, you can't see on TV but they're 8 to 9 deep standing under the 1st and 2nd level. You might not notice but the dugouts are many steps from home plate. all the seats are wood and very small.
  4. Boston's Fenway Park is just hard to describe, so you baseball fans, it's a must before you leave this Earth. We arrived about 3:00 pm for Friday's 7:00 pm start of the 1st game of a 3 game series with the Yankees. The restaurants and streets were already packed, everyone had a hat or jersey with their respective team, Yankee or Red Sox. The 1st game of the series was Becket against Joba Chamberlain. Our seats were in Centerfield, the atmosphere was crazy as the Yankee and Red Sox fans went toe to toe. About the 3rd inning we got the call, 2 seats opened behind home plate and thanks to our local Red Sox player from Lumberton, we made the move. Chamberlain and Beckett both threw gas, but the Yanks squeezed it out 1-0. After we made the move to home plate we noticed a guy in front of us texting almost every play in Spanish. He obviously didn't hide his phone and the name he was sending the text to was Manny Ramirez. Manny had set out Friday's for a tweak knee, so I just asked him. He told me yes and Manny was down in the club house. After the game we were invited to a special Irish restaurant/pub in the city and used a specific code at the door since the line was a block long when we got there. I will not go into a lot of details, but we were rushed in and I personally asked Joba Chamberlain was he throwing at Youk in the 7th. Saturday’s game was a blow out by the Yanks. Petitte was brilliant. I was in the bullpen watching both Wakefield and Petitte warm up, the Red Sox fans were on Pettitte pretty hard. Like “Hey Pettitte, it’s free needle day†Alex Rodriquez is a huge man, Derek Jeter is for real. I noticed at Fenway, this is Red Sox territory. You want hear or see anything to do with Celtics or Patriots. Both fans of the Yanks and Red Sox are the most knowledgeable I’ve ever been around, they know the game. I’ll post some pics later.
  5. I just received a call from Continnetal airlines, my flight has been cancelled. Earliest flight into Boston puts me in the 5th inning of Friday's game. Anybody with any stroke in the airline industry?
  6. Buchholz is pitching at this moment against Seattle, guess he want be on the mound Friday or Saturday in Boston. [Hidden Content]
  7. Will leave this Friday morning for the night game against Yankees, Saturday's game is 3 pm. My view for Friday's game is 8 rows from bottom, CF. Hope to share the sites of Fenway on the board this weekend, might have a few pics of some guys you might recognize.
  8. Mid-County 16's Wins Title By Tim Mullin In a game where the momentum seemed to shift every half inning, it was Mid-County, Texas, that caught the last break beating Okolona out of south Louisville, Ky., 9-7 for the Senior Babe Ruth Southwest Regional title Monday night at Hunts Park Down one, the Texas squad opened its half of the sixth inning with a pair of singles before center fielder Sean O’Connell’s (Kelly) sharp grounder found a hole in the right side of the infield, scoring one to tie the game After Mid-County first baseman Dylan Mulhollan (BC) grounded out, tournament Most Valuable Player Jacob Lynch(PNG) cleared the bases with a double down the right field line, giving Mid-County a 9-7 lead and ultimately the win We knew their big right-hander (Willie Kenny) had thrown a lot of innings, so we just wanted to work him deep into the counts,†said the Mid-County coach. “That’s what the plan was and that’s what Lynch was able to do, capitalizing on a 3-2 pitch for the big double.†It was Mid-County that also struck first After loading the bases on a pair of walks and a fielder’s choice in the top of the first Mid-County third baseman Ross Foret (WB) hit a rocket over the left-center field fence, giving Foret’s squad an early 4-0 lead The Texas squad would add two more for a 6-1 lead going into the bottom of the third, before Okolona came roaring back, capitalizing on walks and three Mid-County errors. In the bottom of the fourth Okolona took its first lead of the game. After a single, a walk and a fielder’s choice loaded the bases with two outs, Mid-County reliever Ryan Brady (NED) walked Okolona’s Jacob Smith to give Okolona the lead at 7-6. But that’s the only mistake Mid-County pitchers would make the rest of the way as Brady shut down the next four batters he faced before Cody Laird (Ned) came in to close out the game in the sixth. “I think the difference in the game was that we just had a little bit more pitching left,†MC’s Coach said. “Brady did a great job in relief, having pitched earlier in the day against Fort Smith, allowing us to save the big lefty (Laird) to close it out.†Earlier in the day, Mid-County knocked out the local Fort Smith All-Stars, who advanced to the semifinals of the tournament after winning their first two games. Fort Smith third baseman Logan Emery led Forsgren by going 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run, but Jacob Lynch (PNG) went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run for Mid-County, which won 5-3 in the second semifinals
