  1. Westbrook's James Ewing drove in five runs and USM collected 15 hits to beat the Thundering Herd 12-8 and even their C-USA series at a game apiece Link to Full Story
  2. I got to watch them 3 or 4 times, they are good. I would be shocked it they don't bring back the gold.
  3. Westbrook's Chip Ambres followed with a double and came in to score on Carlin's two-out double down the right field line for a 4-0 Portland lead Link to Full Story

  5. Vidor has a good squad, Roby and Hester can pitch. Someone tell me what GP did to win both games ? Was the pitching better than what the Pirates faced with Harrington and Lott? How about the style of ball GP played, small ball or wait for the 3 run homer? Defense, did they get to balls that were hits in district?
  6. Looks like they saved their No 1 for Game 2, Zach Voss, their No 3 Kyle Gregory throws a 9-0 shuthout in Game 3.

How about 31 hits on a beautiful Saturday day.
  8. I thought Dallas Brown threw well in the 1st game. He seemed to get stronger as the game processed. Cloren hit the ball very well in the 1st game, the grandslam was a 3-2 pitch curveball I think. Huffman was scrappy, the SS Schimdt can play, the catcher was good. Missed the second game, but thanks to baseballmom2xs, Gary Stelly and Josh Smalley at KOGT got some updates. Matt Johnson pitched a great game, Taylor thompson got some relief duties and pitched well. Tell ya, Tim Barry may be the toughest out in the area, he hits ropes. LCM was the better team, if their pitchers can stay healthy and keep them in the game, they could make some noise.

  18. WB/OLE Miss Tim Ferguson Rebels powered to 10-1 victory "We played well tonight and were able to get some key hits in crucial situations," said Ole Miss head coach Mike Bianco. "We were able to get the timely hit to push some runs across. We also played well defensively and it was nice to see us get some double plays. Westbrook's Tim Ferguson made some nice plays at shortstop as did Zach Miller up the middle."
  19. Some of the current 18's are Hales, Silva, and Thamm from Barbers Hill Marshall and Cervanka from Baytown Sterling Steinhagen from Beaumont Kelley. To name a few. The MLB draft in June could change the roster some. That's a solid bunch of players right there.
  20. You play it like a scrimmage because thats basically what it is. It means NOTHING. Why go out there and throw Harrington for 6 innings and take a chance on something bad happening. Then you go real far in the playoffs. This "game" means nothing. Scrap I understand where your coming from and I don't expect Coach Stone to throw Harrington 6 innings as much as Coach Bryant to throw Hicks 6 innings. Both pitchers haven't thrown in awhile, they will get the bulk of innings. I can see Todd and Dillon throwing 2 then whoever the coaches feel they need to see for Game 3 of a series.
  21. Why would you play it like a scrimmage? Bridge City is a very solid team who could go a few rounds in 4A and not blink an eye. Who wants to go into the playoffs with a loss? Coach Stone and Coach Byrant I guarantee will play to win.
  22. Wizards win three of six last week PNG's Allen Harrington picked up his third save. The next two games did not go so well for the Wizards as they lost them 8-3 and 5-0. The Wizards got the day off ...
  23. Jasper Prepares For Tarkington by Michael Love The Jasper Bulldogs were busy practicing on Wednesday, the Dawgs are defending their 3-A State Title and preparing to go for two in a row. Link to Story at KJAS
  24. Portland gets three more hits from Gerut en route to third straight Westbrook's Chip Ambres hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in the seventh inning and the Portland Beavers won their third straight game by beating the Oklahoma RedHawks 5-4
