  4. Tournament will start Saturday instead of Friday in Bay City due to weather. 17-18's will play Bay City at 2:30. 16's will play Saturday against Wharton, times pending.
  5. You are correct. With all leagues using the same birth chart ie. Babe Ruth, Connie Mack, Pony and Little League, you could have a college player and 16 yr old Sr play in those age brackets. Here is the chart that the above leagues I mentioned use. [Hidden Content]

DeLome has now recorded multiple hits in six of the past seven games, raising his batting average to .429 on the season and .545 at "The Joe" this season. Matt Cusik knocked a double to left in the seventh inning driving in Chris Frye, putting the Tigers out of reach for good. [Hidden Content]

  12. Lumberton's Clay Buchholz may be the pride of the farm system, but he didn't make the manager of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats happy. When Buchholz got a standing ovation from the fans in New Hampshire after his outing Monday -- 6 1/3 innings of four-hit ball with 11 strikeouts in Portland's 5-4 win -- Fisher Cats manager Bill Masse wasn't pleased, even though quite a few fans were likely there simply to see Buchholz pitch (some of them Sea Dogs fans, since Portland isn't that far from Manchester). "I think it's sad," Masse told the Union Leader. "We're not playing the Boston Red Sox. We're playing the Portland Sea Dogs. Unless you're from that area, you root for your hometown team. This is New Hampshire's team, Manchester's team, and to see Clay Buchholz get a standing ovation was absolutely disgraceful." The Fisher Cats are the Double A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays.

  14. Coach Neumann with a state recognized player on his roster, that's a change. Does that guarantee another playoff year? No, but it's nice to see Dravannti get some pub that he deserves.
  15. Relievers Ryan Madson, Brian Sanches, Clay Condrey and Antonio Alfonseca made that work, tossing six scoreless innings. The Phillies are 11-5 in Hamels' starts. While the state of Hawaii will likely celebrate Victorino's winning hit, Texas was well represented with Sanches, Condrey and Michael Bourn, who had three hits and two RBIs. Sanches and Condrey are both from Beaumont, while Bourn is from Houston. "We'll take that for the Lone Star State," said Condrey, who tossed a five-pitch eighth inning and joked, "When was the last time you saw me do that?" Victorino's double gave Sanches his first Major League win in his 21st Major League appearance. He got the scorecard and a ball from an umpire's pouch, since Antonio Alfonseca tossed the final out into the stands. "I guess [the] 21st is the charm," Sanches said. Whether the charm carries over remains unknown, the Phillies take satisfaction from a road trip in which they likely lost Jon Lieber for the season. Philadelphia recovered from a 1-2 trip through Cleveland with a 2-1 trek through St. Louis. "That's why I tell you to play," Manuel said. "You have to play. You don't have a crystal ball, so you keep right on playing. You don't ever know what's going to happen. Hopefully, it's good. Today was good."
  16. Play that you may see but once in your life, check it out. I believe since it's not a force the run counts. Oregon St vs UNC
  17. ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Sammy Sosa hit his 600th home run Wednesday night, making him the fifth player to reach the milestone. Sosa, playing for the Texas Rangers following a year out of baseball, hit a 1-2 pitch into his team's bullpen in right-center for a solo homer. It came in the fifth inning against the Chicago Cubs, the team he played for from 1992- Sosa was the 1998 NL MVP and a seven-time All-Star while hitting 545 of his homers with the Cubs. Sosa bounced out of the batter's box with his trademark hop and thrust his right fist into the air before reaching first base. He was mobbed at home plate by his teammates while the scoreboard showed pictures of all five members of the elite club: Hank Aaron, Barry Bonds, Babe Ruth, Willie Mays and Sosa.
  18. Good post. How does a business grow? Is it adverstising, location or staff? None of the above, it's referrals. I've seen over the years, especially in baseball, it's the kid in college who can help the most. They know what it takes to be successful at the college level, be it in the classroom, practice field or being a good teamate. So all you underclassmen that have played against or with a college player, what you did during the game will definetly influence his decision when his coach gets his opinion on a kid he is recruiting that he may know.
  19. Would have expected nothing less from those guys. Great showing.
  20. OR St had it won in the 9th but a misplaced fly ball has CS still alive. Turn it to ESPN.
