  1. Needville batter with 2-2 count has to come out with injury.
  2. Needville still hanging around with 2 runners on by single and walk.
  3. Meeks has k'd 5 in a row, needs one more out to close it out.
  4. Top of 7th as this is Needville's last chance. Cards up 8-5.
  5. Top 6th Needville has runner at 2nd with 2 outs. Meeks with 9 k's, about 96 pitches. Meeks k's the side as BC comes to bat in 6th up 8-5
  6. Hicks is out the game. Robertson singles after Dillon walks. 1 out for Cards. Bolton walks to load them up. Johnny Dishon at the plate. Dishon 2 rbi single, 8-5 Cards.
  7. Gary at KOGT says it was a close play at 1st on slow roller, both runners score 6-5.
  8. Meeks gets a key K, 2 outs now with runners at 2nd and 3rd.
  9. He threw about 18 pitches in 1st inning, FO-7, 5-3, HR and 4-3. Not bad for a 44 yr old.
  10. Maybe it's already been written, was the freshman Needville's ace? I've seen in the past with 2 out of 3 with a pitcher like Stringer, the opposing team will throw #3. Maybe tigerpride has already discussed this, been moving quick these last couple days and haven't been able to read everything.
  11. If Coach Bryant gets the Cardinals to Austin it would be hard not to honor the man with Coach of the Year. Now, someone had posted earlier that BC's team was inexperienced, I question that logic. Most baseball teams are built up the middle, Catcher-SS-CF-2B-P. In those 5 positions we have Casey Jackson © one the most dangerous sticks , Matt Hicks (SS) fresh phenom, Troy Bolton (2B) I believe toughest out in the area, Jeff Stringer (P) Div 1 pitcher, and Johnny Dishon (BC) Div 1 CF, possible draft choice. Does anyone 1A-5A in a 100 mile radius of BC have any better talent?
  12. San Jac won the Regional at Blinn going 4-0. They are heading for the JUCO DIV I College World Series in Junction City, CO Local players Kevin Angelle (BC) and Jamie Bagley (Huffman)
  13. Been a few years for me, and with 2, I had to adjust. I agree with a previous poster, high school was more enjoyable than college. For me, the home runs, pitching wins or honors that they received were great, but to me it's nothing compared with any successes that they have accomplished as an adult, when the gloves and bats are in the attic.
  14. Rick Mount (Purdue) I know, no one's ever heard of him but he could play.
  15. I like BC in two. Meeks may have struggled a little in game 2 but he can get it done. Wharton's pitcher in game 3, the 15 yr old freshman was not your typical freshman. I really don't know how much he pitched in the earlier games but for a couple innings he was throwing mid to low 80's. Wharton made a good move by walking Jackson with a base open, but Chase Warner came thru in the clutch to break the game open. BC could move Hicks into the 2nd spot in the rotation, Willey can play SS. Meeks is a tough closer that could be used in all 3 games if needed.
