I've seen alot local high school baseball in the past 20 years: Pitching........The pitching is way down from prior years, no one is touching 90 as I've seen in the past. Angelle, Parker, Blacksher, Harrington and Elhert could fit in during SETEX best years of baseball 1995-2001 Position players.....No big difference, pretty even over the years. Defense........This is the biggest difference in high school baseball from prior years from my viewpoint, too many errors in today's high school baseball teams. Coaching........Much improved from prior years, local AD's actually hiring baseball coaches instead of football coaches having to coach baseball

This could be a competetive series. BC always impresses me with their defense, they are just solid in all positions. I'm going to look up last years scorebooks as Wharton beat us in our State tourney of Babe Ruth last summer and we had to double dip them to advance last year. We had Robichau of Vidor , Sampere and Richard of Nederland throwing against them and Wharton can play. It should be a good series.

You now have a taste of what it's like, just build on it.

Stringer pitched a gem tonight, 17 k's. Warner made a nice play early to squelch an early rally by Splendora. Splendora's pitcher was very good. BC didn't really get to him till the 7th, The SS and catcher were solid players for Splendora. Nothing against Splendora but they would have finished behind Silsbee,OF and HF.

Hales is tough, one of the best around. Smith from Vidor has a nasty slider and when he's on he's on. Looks like both were on. Don't count Vidor out, they made statement tonight, they belong.
