  1. Were a little wet in Nederland, BC vs Splendora maybe to Woodville.
  2. Nothing against Barbers Hill but let's play two in Nederland tommorrow.
  3. Nice article on the Cards. Gabe always does a great job.
  4. I was parked behind home plate. No LU hat, will back at Lamar with Vidor/Barbers Hill after HJ/Liberty crank up in Nederland.
  5. Bridge City will be well represented in the all-districts pics. IMO, you have a guy who could get Newcomer of the Year or MVP.
  6. It's ready, nice haircut yesterday. Please don't stop an eat anywhere, the food is better than a 5 star restaurant, bring plenty of coins. We have a tarp, but no one to man it.
  7. Really disappointed in the crowd last night, maybe because the stadium is just larger but I thought both teams had smaller crowds than the past.........I like the coach from Huffman, thought a few times he should have had a glove on as close as he was to the field calling defensive signals...........Never seen those umpires before, but the home plate guy was real good..........Griiff must have had the Bears with a late practice as they didn't show as a team like in Vidor the other night in HJ/Silsbee game, Vidor made a showing last night, must not have any peroxide left in town with those hair do's.......
  8. You could be right. I had no gun, but the guy 1 seat above did. Lamar's Gilligan was in front of me, of course he asked the guy with the gun when both were pitching in the early innings what they had. That's were I got the 88 and 84.
  9. PNG escaped a bases loaded no out suitation when Huffman grounded to Kane Benoit at 3rd, who went home and catcher Carnahan made quick throw to 1st for double play. Harrington retired the next batter. Huffman had runners by bunting in that inning. Huffman scored the lone run when PNG's infielder made a great stop but throw went into dugout. With a runner on 2nd, Huffman singled to right, play at the plate was close but he was safe.
  10. Huffman’s Michael Listi and PNG’s Eric Harrington both pitched a gem tonight. Listi scattered maybe 4 hits, had double digit K’s plus induced at least 3 double plays to completely shut down PNG’s offense. He stayed at around 84, with a wicked curveball. Huffman played flawless defense. Harrington was 88 consistently, had plenty of K’s but one un-earned run did the Indians end. Even though PNG’s bats were suspect coming in, Listi is good enough to shut down a very good hitting squad. It’s not over, especially with Flores up next, but PNG needs to get the lumber out or this series will be over in 2.
  11. Gunner, I didn't say Listi was better, just getting input from someone who has seen them all. Flores and Harrington IMO are at the top in 22 4A.
  12. Anything can happen but on paper Bridge city should advance on down the road. With playoff experience players like Dishon, Bolton and Jackson plus pitchers Stringer and Meeks, it's that spunky freshman SS Matt Hicks that really puts on a show, but in a quiet way. He doesn't waste a step, he's a ballplayer.
  13. With a 1st rounder last year and 2 Div 1 players up the middle this year he deserves the recognition for just not messing it up.
  14. Haven't seen Huffman this year, PNG a few times. From all reports, Listi is a quality pitcher, is he better than Flores or Harrington ? Spikes, who's a soph can close a game like senior. PNG is suspect with the bat, to win, Flores and Harrington must keep it close. I'm giving the edge to PNG.
  15. Great pitching duel between Treece and Macdonald. Treece worked out of big jam in bottom 7th, got a K with runners at 2nd and 3rd and 1 out, intentional walk to Calhoun to load them, and 2 nasty curve balls to force a groundout. HJ can go a round or two. Silsbee with a good year, the lost to HF really hurt.
  16. All pre-registered players will receive a phone call for tryouts. They are to be held at Nederland High School Baseball Field....... Sunday May 6th and Wednesday May 9th at 6:00 PM
  17. 12th ranked San Jac swept Wharton this wekend to secure No 1 seed in the regional tournament May 12th at Blinn . BC's Kevin Angelle was 4-0 and Huffman's Jamie Bagley 2-2 in conference play. Kevin Angelle Jamie Bagley
  18. Would rather still be playing but second best would be to host this series in Nederland.
  19. 1..Westbrook 2..LCM 3..PNG 4..Barbers Hill 5..Jasper 6..Vidor 7..Bridge City 8..Hardin-Jefferson 9..Silsbee 10..Woodville
  20. Both good squads HJ and Silsbee. Treece has impressed me since early in the season so I'll give the Hawks the advantage, McDonald is no slouch on the hill if Coach Trawhorn goes that way. This district can make some noise in the playoffs, Jasper I feel is the strongest team followed by BC. Hj or Silsbee can win some playoff games.
  21. Taylor Robichau of Vidor pitched a gem today against Nederland. Robichau had one of the best change ups I've seen in awhile. He's defense was superb, especially his 3rd baseman Jake Guidry. CF Will Fontnow also had a nice catch in center. Nederland just couldn't get anything going with the bats. Barbers Hill will be tough to handle, but knowing many of the Vidor players, I'll take my chances with them.
  22. Michael Lange of Hf pitches a complete game to pick up the win, Joel Schooling goes the diistance for Silsbee. Horns have the hot bats tonight with soph. SS Taylor Eaves with 3 hits with a HR. Jr 3B Travis Moore also homered for HF. Hardin-Jefferson hecklers were very vocal on HF side.
