  1. I miss alot of action during the day.
  2. Now you talking. It's just a matter of time that every coach will take us off speed dial for non-district games.
  3. Bridge City's Kevin Angelle in his 1st college start goes 5 innings giving up 1 hit with 8 k's as San Jac defeats McClennan 9-0 in Waco.
  4. I spoke to Griff at LCM the other day, he told me that HF pitching staff was overrated, this proofs it.
  5. BC should compete very well. You build your team up the middle, Jackson C, Hicks SS, Bolton 2b and Dishon in CF. Chase Warner can play, and also Jason Clark can play some outfield.
  6. Looks like the interest of Soccer has really caught on in this area. For years the only schools that played and succeded at soccer were Nederland and PNG. It seems the other schools have caught up and compete quite well.
  7. Wikipedia Born in St. Louis, Missouri in a primarily Italian neighborhood called "The Hill", Berra was the son of immigrants who originally nicknamed him Lawdie, derived from his mother Paulina's difficulty pronouncing Lawrence or Larry correctly. He grew up on Elizabeth Avenue, just a few doors down from his boyhood friend and later competitor Joe Garagiola (that block, also home to the late baseball broadcaster Jack Buck, has subsequently been renamed "Hall of Fame Place"). Berra has also been inducted into the St. Louis Walk of Fame. He picked up his more famous nickname from a friend who said he resembled a Hindu holy man (yogi) they had seen in a movie, whenever Berra sat around with arms and legs crossed waiting to bat, or while looking sad after a losing game. (Years later, the Hanna-Barbera cartoon character Yogi Bear was named after Berra, something Berra did not appreciate after he started being periodically addressed as "Yogi Bear.") He began playing baseball in local American Legion leagues, where he learned the basics of play as a catcher. Why did I post this? Because I met the friend in this story, a local Beaumont man in his 80's today who gave Yogi his nickname. What a great man, he told me many old baseball stories. He actually seen Babe Ruth play. Him and Yogi were 15 ys old when he gave Yogi his nickname.
  8. I like Jasper's the best, if there is a game in between the lines I don't care what's outside the lines.
  9. I read this today, I couldn't find it anywhere in the MSM. Usually, they destroy a horse after an injury this severe, at least they waited awhile. When Barbaro broke down during the Preakness Stakes, his owners held insurance to cover them in the event of a catastrophic injury to the horse, which was likely worth at least $25 million to $30 million - and more if he had won. 10. Someone tell me what gives when your food is free, school is free, you get a stipend and then you act a fool and can't play?
  11. Reese Guidry, Chris Wood and Chad Hebert just a few more who would get dirty for you.
  12. Quit teasing me with those headlines, thought he was back. I likes he's input and I thought him and Milo made a great team. I never read linked stories, but you made me bite.
  13. Look for Ryan Sampere, Josh Cabra and Justin Richard from Nederland to step up.
  14. I would love to see a baseball coach as AD. Hey, Billy's mom is on the school board. You never know.
  15. BC should pull a shocker in Southeat Texas, heck how about the whole state and name Billy Bryant as AD. The man has a team undefeated in district for the past 3 years and back to back State appearences.
  16. I don't know who the best pole vaulters are, but if you can find a guy name Joe Hester he can make you the best.
  17. TVC, is this the same Coach Sims we had at Nederland a few years back? How did she get away?
  18. Vidor has legit shot, it's time for them to step up.
