  1. OK Coop, this is your thing and that's all you got.
  2. Every coaches dream, a soph catcher that can play. Only thing better, a freshman.
  3. Cody Sparks (BC) All-District Baseball, Football, Basketball, District Champ, Track
  4. With Riley on the mound Woodville is as tuff as they come. Carthage strength is hitting, but Riley proofed that good pitching will shut down good hitting.
  5. My contact left, but he said Silsbee's No 2 didn't pitch as of the 6th.
  6. I'm not shocked at all. PNG was just 2 plays from 2nd place in 20-4A.
  7. Bobcatfan You have some big shoes to fill as Mif04 did such a great job with baseball but as I expected you jumped out mighty good with these picks and the synopsis was well written.
  8. Top 6 PNG 9 Silsbee 2 Pitchers PNG....McInnis (2) 0 Run, Powell (1) 2 runs, Abbot (1) 0 runs, Mire (1) 0 runs Silsbee....Schooling (2) 7 runs, Skinner (2) 2 runs
  9. Top 3rd Starting Pitching PNG...McGinnis Silsbee...Schooling PNG 7 Silsbee 0 HR McGinnis
  10. I could be wrong but Elhert hasn't went 7 in district or maybe 7 the whole year. Look for him to go maybe 3 at the most. If LCM is loses flip, they could play as early as Wednesday. You know Griff is pretty crafty in the playoffs. Two rules have been changed by UIL since LCM has been going to playoffs. No 1.... Beau Hale rule............... After Beau was used in every playoff game all the way to Austin, UIL changed to a flip with for 2 out 3. No 2......Courtesy Runner rule.......After Griff used a courtesy runner for both the Pitcher and Catcher in the same game and inning, his runner actually stole 4 bases in one inning, UIL passed the rule you must use a different player for pitcher and catcher.
  11. This might help answer the question. [Hidden Content]
  12. Go to sticky in our baseball forum, the UIL is currently updating the brackets. Go ahead an email them with info if you have it. Also after posting the scores here during playoffs, drop the UIL a line also.
  13. You could probably say that about any local pitcher that dominates it's district opponents. Those major league scouts and Texas A&M don't seem to mine the competition. As mif04 once said, A&M got a steal on both these guys.
  14. Hamshire Fannett 3 Trinity 1 HF....3-9-1 TR....1-3-1 WP Spencer Cuniff Neal (1) Cuniff (2) Lange (4) Moore (6) Sanches (7) 2B=Joey Johnson, 3 hits Eric Neal 3 hits
  15. It's alot of work, thanks mif04.
  16. has committed to Lamar. I guess the pipeline continues from Nederland to Lamar. I might miss some, but from memory. Pitchers: Steven Westbrook Kyle Green Eric Cammack Brian Sanches Jesse Floyd Michael Melancon William Delage Justin Walker
  17. They will win and go deep in playoffs.
  18. This team hasn't received the hype, but it could make some noise in the playoffs. After losing 7 starters from a 12-0 District Champs, they were picked 3rd by some and not even making the playoffs by many. After their early showing at the Woodlands tourney, playing the No,1 ranked Woodlands close, but losing 4-2, they have continued to get better. They have split with No.1 ranked 3A team in Texas in BC, then played 4A’s No .4 team LCM till the end. PNG with their pitching is no slouch, as they have come back twice late to pull out victories. Look for the Dogs to make some noise
  19. Don't know the Coach from Lumberton but anytime you have former players speaking out, it holds water compared to current players or parents. If he’s anything like he’s Dad, who I saw in action, Lumberton has a steal. Heck, I thought the former Coach at Lumberton was pretty good also, Brevell. Orange County has a long history of quality baseball, the reason imo, Buff (LCM), Ronnie Anderson (WOS) and Chuck Young (BC). Kid’s are no different today than they were in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s., it’s the parents. I’m going to leave this open to someone who played for any of the guys I mentioned and you tell me what they would have done, with some of the antics of parents today.
  20. Robert E Lee is Baytown Lee.
  21. LCM hasn't seen a pitcher like Angelle, and will not see one till they get to Austin if they make it. BC hasn't seen a pitcher like Elhert, and will not till they play Lufkin Hudson, if they make it. Common opponents were Nederland, as Angelle and Elhert both pitched well, Angelle complete game victory, double digit K'a and 2 hits, Elhert 2 innings and I believe 1 hit no runs. Next you have have Haymond and Womack, again common opponent Nederland, Haymond was still coming around from TJ, but he was rocked. Womack went 4 innings, 2 hits and no runs. Both teams can put the ball in play. Elhert isn't the strike out pitcher like Angelle, so LCM's defense doesn't relax as say BC's when Angelle's on the hill. This IMO, is where LCM has the advantage, once Angelle leaves the mound, BC will have to play defense.
  22. I hope Gary Stelly/Sam Moore have it on KOGT, as I can't make it. Even though both squads will pitch the staff, you never want to go into the playoffs with a lost. LCM has the tougher 1st game as Marshall and Klein Oak are solid programs. Bridge City gets Kirybville/Central winner.
  23. Nederland plays Thursday, Hamshire-Fannett Friday @Nederland. Maybe the LCM/BC game could be played Saturday@Nederland.
