  1. Hey Piratefan...What happened to your Moderator Avatar? Today your mimicing quotes! Whats next?
  2. Purple...thanks for the support, but the dogs are playing in Houston friday. Next week the dogs break in the new scoreboard.
  3. Waller won the game in a rushing contest between to solid RB's from each team. No defense whatsoever on both sides of the ball. I agree with Aggie...It does seem premature to start this topic before we play Forest Brook.
  4. Sampere has 3 breaks in his ankle. He is having screws put in this week. He will be out a mimimum 6 weeks!
  5. That pretty much sums up that question. Thanks-Coop.
  6. Piratefan...A person from Ned and WOS pay your community a compliment and you go off on a tirade. Your a self proclaimed "Moderator" on this website. What is the criteria that you have to achieve/maintain to keep that title? Just curious?
  7. Ryan will be out for 6-8 weeks minimum. Possibly wont even return to play football this season. Bellows is the QB! Dogs have already modified their offense to Bellow's physical strengths. Upperclassmen need to step up for Bellows. Nederland will be fine behind this young man.
  8. Shermdog...You are correct. Also, #52 Webster had addiction problems on top of his mental issues. As much as I disliked the Steelers back in the 70's, he was a great center for that team. Also, Kip Cooper was killed last week in Beaumont. He was a high profile player for the "Another one Bites the Dust" 1980 TJ Football team. He was supposed to play for the Texas Longhorns along with Dodge and Duhon. His future was very bright. If I'm correct, he played DE for TJ.
  9. The Dogs go back to work today. They arent taking Monday off!
  10. etbu...I agree with your post. Whoever started this thread and previous thread about this young man need to focus on getting themselves ready for Lamarque. I would like to see PNG beat Lamarque Friday night.
  11. I was at Silsbee scrimmage. Grogan was not getting pushed around. He played hard and fast along with Stewart. I look forward to watching the entire defense play against Jasper. This should be a another solid test for Ned defense. I'm curious to see if Grogan becomes one of the leaders on this defense. The front 7 on defense look very impressive to me.
  12. The summer baseball all star teams vs fall H.S. football teams will always be a debate in Texas!
  13. I dont believe this is about anybody being above the Football team. The decision to play in the baseball world series is a great lifetime experience. What about the remaining all star baseball players who are not playing football? This was their chance this summer to experience their dream of a championship. Sounds as if all 4 football players have to do to make the 1st team is do extra drills when they return from baseball anyway.
  14. Scalpem06... speaking of kickers!! who will be kicking for PNG this year?
  15. I'm looking forward to Vidrine returning to WR this Friday. I hope Brady returns this week, too. I want to see our complete starting WR package against Jasper. What offensive set does Jasper run? I've heard Jasper looked solid last week.
  16. Ned/Silsbee scrimmage went well for both sides. On defense, Grogan #2 and Stewart #73 played extremely well on D-Line. Guti #38 looked strong at MLB. Stanley #1 and Krautz #22 looked comfortable at DB. I was expecting much more from DJ #44. He was put in check a few times. On offense, Huber #54 and Benefield #50 looked the best on O-line. Cardenas #21 and Broussard #9 made some quality plays at WR. Silsbee QB played solid tonight. He runs and throws the ball very well.
  17. There are alot of good ones out there.... Rudy has to be #1, then Remember The Titans, Friday Night Lights, Any Given Sunday and The Replacements.
  18. Jake...I'm pretty sure we are going to see a controlled scrimmage Saturday.
  19. Since this has become the "Old Timers Corner Thread", my old memory of H.S. Football was 25+ yrs ago. We had one brief water break just like previous post's, but we would suck on old towels soaked from a water jug in between plays. The coaches would make us run gassers if we got caught sucking on those hydrated towels. Times are way different these days.
  20. Buy. Will Dayton, Central and Nederland finish in the top 3 this season?
  21. Jake94...I pretty sure Neumann explored the spread with Dean. For certain reasons Neumann scrapped the spread before the season started. Sampere will be fun to watch this season.
  22. Scooter...I think Nederland should have implemented the spread after the '01 season when they went to semi's. Same time period alot of other upper tier football programs started the spread. IMO...I think Ned is a few yrs behind on catching up with rest of spread teams. For Nederland to be successful with spread this season, it will come down to the 0-line. I would like to see it work!
  23. tvc184...I agree. The organization should have done a final walk thru after the game to ensure the property was left as they found it pregame.
  24. Which teams are Vidor playing against in the video? I dont recognize the teams.
