Well, if the only "tradition" that they have is beating OF.... who for the last several years has been coached by air.... that is a pretty sad statement  8)

To be honest with you, I hope they don't risk it if there is any issue with him.  However, since he is the coaches son, he might be more inclined to play him.  I know ya'll all remember the old school coaches, "your alright, suck it up" kinda guys.  He definately makes our offense go, but his health is way more important than a football game.

Since at this point we don't know if Corey can play, I will only make one prediction.  If OF gets ahead by more than 2 touchdowns in the second half there will be a mass exodus by the BC fans.  When we scored 65 on them 2 years ago, there wasn't enough people in the stands  to account for the players family's midway through the 4th quarter.  I always hate to see that for the kids sake. One thing about OF, we support our team, win lose or draw, in all kinds of weather and in all kinds of places.

Silsbee played us better than anyone all year long.  I'm not sure how they have lost the games they have, especially against Diaboll.  Since we played Newton, I can say that there is no question I would take Silsbee's team hands down over Newton's (and that is no slap on Newton, they are dang good).  By far the best defensive effort I have seen against OF.

For those of you who weren't at the Silsbee game, and are looking at the score, it was Silsbee's defense that made the difference in the game.  Silsbee had a better scheme, and did a better job of shutting us down than anyone so far.  It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that we have struggled on defense, but our best situation was to keep their offense off the field.  We had like 1 first down halfway through the second quarter.  By the time we figured out a strategy to move the ball, it was way too late.  Our offense isn't conducive to playing from behind.  Like I said, Silsbee was by far the best team we have played so far, with the best plan against what we do. 

Yea, it is raining like a cow urinating on a flat rock here in OF... I hear the volunteer fire department may soak it some more tomorrow... looking good..  :)

I think we should let all the teams practice on it all week,

their defense is pathetic and can be scored on at will, and if you stop their running game they have NOTHING! Who? orangefield awe venom, did you get your feelings hurt cuz I picked BC over ya'll? Now you come on here and say we are "pathetic" poor WOS fans, they finally have a year where they aren't demolishing everyone and if anyone says anything at all about them losing, (doesn't have to be anything negative like, "ya'lls defense is pathetic") and they get all sensitive... kinda :'( :'( :'( you know its true though! i posted two things, your defense is pathetic and your offense is one dimensional and you chose one out of the two to discuss? have you guys given up a ton of points? is your offense one dimensional? if a team stops your run game they stop your entire offense, and you know its true! your running game is incredible no doubt, but stop it and the cats are done! Venom, we have 6-7 kids that have run the ball for in excess of 100 yards this year. I think it was Daryl Royal who said, when you pass 3 things can happen and 2 of them are bad, so I'll stick to running the ball. That is the philosophy in OF. I personally would like to see us pass more, but hey, I am not the coach, and I am thankful for it. I will tell you this, I respect WOS and all that they have accomplished in football over the years and no matter what, I won't be calling them "pathetic" about anything.... We here at OF have had several years of really poor efforts, mainly from the adults in the program, imo, so if we tend to get a little excited (finally) cut us some slack

How many 4th downs were stopped? 3 that I know of.... We had more first downs, 20, and more yards. Generally speaking, we stopped ourselves as much as HJ stopped us. I did think HJ played us better on defense than anyone so far. But to say HJ stopped us would be a little stretch.

this must have started after giving up 28 to kelly. you do understand the point of a defense? I thought the point of defense was to keep the other team from scoring. How many first downs did ya'll have against Silsbee? not too many! do you,as a bobcat 4 life, really want to get into this peeing match? Does it offend you Venom that I placed my opinion on this board? It would be more beneficial to OF if WOS wins this game. All I said was that BC's defense has stepped up and that appears to be where WOS has had trouble this year, at least with the better teams. I find it a breath of fresh air to the entire district that we can even consider that BC could beat WOS. Makes for a much more interesting district.

You've seen us play redbird? Not sure how well we will stop Silsbee, other than keeping their offense off the field. HJ really didn't stop us, but they won. Ball control, ball control, ball control.....

I can guarantee you that don't have a dog in the fight, but based on what I am seeing I think I smell an upset brewing. BC 14 WOS 10. BC's defense is the real deal, and if BC commits to the run, I can see a BC victory.

I promise you OF comes out much sharper than last week. If Silsbee wins, 21 or 28 points isn't gonna do it.

Unbelievable as it may be, I think many OF players took HJ lightly. 2 things, number one, HJ played better defense than anyone so far against the offense that OF runs. Secondly, OF wasn't nearly as sharp as in recent weeks. Not selling their fakes, backs blocking, etc. HJ is a good team, no question about it. They did to OF what OF has been doing to other teams, hold on to the ball for long periods of time, and keep the other team's offense off the field. OF can beat anyone if they play well, OF can beat anyone in the district if they play well. They can't beat any of the remaining teams if they don't.

I agree, there is no question with all of the talk about BC's defense that Silsbee brings a very good defense to the field. When you consider that HJ had the worst defense in the district so far, at least against the run (and yes I know they have played good teams, etc.) and BC had a difficult time scoring against them. Silsbee held WO-S with defense. I look for more of the same, even though I like to see all of our Orange county teams do well, I see Silsbee 21-7.

As far as talent goes, I thought H-F and OF looked like mirror images of each other. I repeat, its coaching, coaching, coaching..... I know that WO-S and Newton have athletes, but what is the one constant that makes them good each and every year..... COACHING

I'm sorry I meant HF not HJ. At least at HF they would look at that, at OF we can have a coach who is 0fer ever, and people will wanna keep him cuz he is a "good guy"

You hit the nail on the head, its coaching, coaching, coaching.... Several kids at OF who most people would consider the school's best athletes aren't playing football as they opted to concentrate on baseball or basketball. However, Coach H has them believing in themselves and each other. What a difference a year makes, last year OF and HJ fought it out for the chance to lose, the only thing that has really changed is the coach at OF.
