[/quote] Nah, I have no clue.  I did just spent two hours at senior league sign ups.  I have a bruise on my arm from umpiring a junior league game(where my kid wasn't even playing)  He plays high school ball now.  I am also on the board and have been for several years.( either little league and now junior/senior league) In fact, I was at the sign shop at 8:00 this morning to pick up signs and spent my lunch hour putting them out.   Does that answer your questions?   And still, I believe there are more important things than being at every high school event.   I'm glad it fulfills your life, Bleed, but there is more.

Normally, PN-G not only defeats West Brook, but everyone else at the meet as well (we've only attended one local invitational meet where we didn't take the sweepstakes award this year). PN-GHS was also a "Recognized" school this year. WB was "Academically Acceptable." No offense West Brook fans. Just stating the facts. The UIL meet where PN-G didn't take sweepstakes (the one I talked about in an earlier post) was (ironically enough) the 2009 West Brook Math & Science Meet. There were two math/science magnet schools out of Houston there that dominated the meet. PN-G and West Brook were the only local schools participating that had multiple students place. The fact that these two schools were even able to compete in math and science with the two specialized schools from Houston speaks volumes to their ability to teach and prepare students. [/quote] I think Westbrook was also "recognized" for 2009, for whatever that is worth.  Considering the socio-economic makeup out here, that's probably not too bad, and a definite improvement over some past years.

[/quote] Not sure what you mean by upgrade.  The latest bond issue will completely rebuild a lot of the Beaumont schools.  i think every campus will get some type of upgrade, whether it is repairs to existing facilities, expansion to get rid of temporary buildings, are just modernization of existing facilities.   Much of this is already in the building phase.  

I would say Trae Hester is more valuable to his team than any of these other fine players.

[/quote] I haven't been around long enough to experience the whole history, but I have been here over 20 years and in that time, the west end has definitely not gotten the long end of the stick.  While computers were passed out in other parts of town, we in the west end had to do fundraisers to get them.  I remember when Regina Howell got new basketball goals.  Turns out they were taken down from another part of town when they got new ones. Truth is, in the last 20 years, it is the west end that has gotten  short changed because the admin knows that we will do whatever it takes to raise our own money.  And honestly, that's fine with me.  Just don't come on here whining with the poor little me song.  Those days have been over for some time. And frankly, this has nothing to do with the naming of the complex.  It was a bad idea not because Thomas has done a bad job, but because it only leads to more acrimony, which we really don't need right now.

i think if BC kids do not have senior league available down there, they can.  As far as I am concerned, and I don't speak for the league, anyone can play.

Beaumont Baseball will hold registration for Senior League on April 21 from 6 pm - 8 pm and April 24 from 8 am - 12 pm at the Amelia Senior League fields.  Cost is $100.  We will interleague with Lumberton, Woodville, Spindletop and maybe others.  All kids 15-16 are invited, if they have no place to play this summer.  I can answer any questions at 673-3610.
