[/quote] Your posts will make more sense when you start comparing Beaumont to cities with similar socio-economic conditions.  SLC , Katy and Plano don't face the kind of problems that we have.  Instead, how are we doing compared to Baytown, Channelview, or maybe Corpus Christi?  I don't know the answer, but it would be a truer indication of Mr Thomas' worth.

Enrollment numbers mean very little if a large percentage of the student population don't like/play a given sport.

Tried the reef saturday evening, with no luck.  The water is dirty, but clear enough for trout.  i caught an outgoing tide with a south wind and just couldn't move without the trolling motor.  I think if you could catch an incoming tide right now, you could catch some fish.

the Uconn guards would not be able to get open shots.  They would get outrebounded at every position.  Cayuga has two D1 athletes and a big man who can jump.   I would take every boys state champ over the ladies.

[/quote] There is an unwritten ettiquette in every sport.  When you get a big lead, you don't do certain things.  In football, you stop throwing deep and blitzing.  In baseball, you stop stealing bases and taking extra bases.  In basketball, you pull out of the press.  Soccer, work the ball around in the midfield area.  it's different for every sport.  Nobody says Yates should shoot freethrows left-handed,or intentionally travel, just come out of the press.  Throw the ball left handed?  Intentional walks?  Now you are being silly.
