1. Just curious , Swag.  Where does the name come from?  Here in Beaumont, marijuana is known as hay or swag, by the street users.
Boone, Wilson....who else is back on the mound?
Not sure,  Guessing Morgan and maybe some sophomores will see some innings.
Kramlick doesn't pitch for'em?
I don't think so, but he might have to this year.

Since I've met him about 5 or 6 times and never got that impression, I'd like to read some of those articles that clearly show Greg Wise is "all about himself" or his "lack of class, respect and sportsmanship." Got any cites or links?
"Yates  170 to Lee  35"  end quote That score says enough about the content of his character for me.
Well well well. It looks like the tide just went out and we can see who's naked. All I asked was to give us all a couple of those "numerous articles" and you slink away. and you dare to attack the character of someone else?? Sheesh.
Don't know about the articles, but I still haven't heard a good excuse for the classless behaviour of pressing a team that is down 100.            ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

 6. I figure it goes to Ford and Hale, but the two Brook kids are both just as deserving.

 8.
Excellent post Zeek.  I guess it was a different world in '92 when H-J broke the scoring record.  The wussification of sports hadn't taken hold nor was there the internet which these tough guys who speak of class have to get permission from their wives or mothers to speak.....
Hmmmm.... You speak of wusses and internet tough guys.   Hello!  You are doing the same thing, tough guy.          :D
 9.
Baypat...the scrimmage was for practice as well in which we tied 1-1....Yall played tough and wish you luck this season!  Hope we meet again...maybe in the Port Neches tournament?
That's what I was thinking.  Aren't all non district games just practice?
 10.
It's sports guys blow outs are gonna happen whats the big deal?
A 60 point win is a blowout.  130 is an attempt to embarrass or humiliate, and it's easily prevented.  It's not a "big deal", but this is a sports forum and it's worth discussing.
That's BS SFA.   If a "Burb" had beaten someone like this, they would also have been crucified by the media, and rightfully so.  Don't make this racial.  You should know I don't play that game.  Bottom line: they should have gotten out of the full court press.  It was classless, and none of your excuses will change that.
The next time PN-G or Nederland beats Ozen and or Central in baseball by 20 runs, I'll be sure to let you know.  There was no cry about Lake Travis running up the score in football and I have other examples.  Like Carl Dukes pointed out, win Katy blows somebody out in football or Bellaire in baseball, there's no outrage.......
Baseball has a mercy rule.  When lake Travis or Katy, gets up big, they run the ball.  Yates should have called off the press.  No one would have any "outrage" if Yates wins by 100 with some show of sportsmanship.    This is not about the yates kids, it's about a classless coach.

 13. Wonder why all the "bench" players, were still on the bench when the brawl broke out?  You would think some of the starters would have been over there.

But, there are other ways of playing and showing class..A 2-3 Zone would be appropriate Maybe a little man to man..throw in some 1-2-2 sit back zone action, anything , these are KIDS..These kids are not just from inside the district lines...Move ins from all over the H-Town area for one reason..Break the record..Not very challenging for the coach or the kids, a dinamic AAU super squad vs other public schools..WOW..Sure they are good go win another state championship, but do it the right way..With CLASS..Some just dont get it and never will...In this life, sooner or later, what comes around, goes around, you can bet on that!!!
"Other ways of playing?" Are you serious? You play the way you are trained to play. Go all out! Same philosophy in business and making money.
So you are saying nobody has ever taught the guys to play a zone defense?  They don't know how to play a half-court game?  Dove, surely you are just stirring here.
 15.
I wasn't going to post, but I am...LOL! I see both sides and understand both sides. I have been beaten by 60 and beaten people by 40...Dont see any reason to go higher than that, But that is my philosophy. Every coach has their own and mine would be to work on certain defenses that we may need later, and I do understand the intensitity issue. U get up by certain amount of points and coast, is not good...The kids need to know how to control the intensity. And one thing I have learned is not matter your opponent u go in fighting and come out fighting, dont ever stay in the locker room (sorry aggie). Like I said this is my philosophy.
Fighting is right.  Might not be the right thing to do, but I would have my players punish the other team on every drive to the basket.  if they couldn't, I think I would recruit some football players for the next meeting.  They would have to score the last 70 from the free throw line.  JMHO
 16. He needs to put another 25 lbs on that rangy frame to really be a top prospect.
 17. West Brook escaped with a 5 point win over Silsbee in the YMBL. There won't be any 20 point win for either team. Silsbee wins this rematch.
It's unusual for a 5A team to go against a 3A team that is so much taller.  Pulling for Brook, but I don't see them beating Silsbee twice, especially on their home court.  I think our guard play is better.  We just don't have the bigs.
 18. WB v Hightower.  Nobody expected us to pull that one off.
 19. I see that you had Brook as a big underdog. Was College Park supposed to be pretty good?
 20. i think the impact on high school ball has been minimal.  Select really hit the scene about 10 years ago, for this area.  In those ten years, it sems the same programs who were good, are still good, about the same number of kids seem to go on to play college ball, and the number of kids drafted doesn't seem to have changed much.  I believe the high schools are getting better polished players at an earlier age, but the varsity teams don't look much different than they did 10 years ago.  JMO

Because some of these kids you named aren't even close to some of the kids 90 miles west of here.
Who cares about Houston???  You are a HF guy......so quit living through H Town!!! :D :D :D
WOW
C'mon Cat, you know we could take that PG from litty bitty West Lake Austin and he would outshine most of the players in this area.
Why stop there? How about getting that power forward from the state of Iowa? Or that shooting guard from the state of Arizona? This guys top 10 list from this area is just what it is, HIS top 10 of this AREA. Nobody said this list was the best in state. Blue has become a hater.
Not a hater, but definately a stirrer.  Blue, why the Houston comment?    Your posts generally have more class.
 22. Brook has none in your top nine, and Silsbee has 3.  They would probably kill us.        ;)
 23.
He did not start against Silsbee but he did start in the two games I saw them play after the Silsbee game. Still the same type of play.
Curios what you saw from Brook.  i haven't made a game yet, but I hear we don't have anyone over about 6'2".  I know some of those kids from youth ball, and I know they are athletic, but do we have any size?
 24. I think Brook will adequately replace all it's seniors, but I guess Cooper at RB is the biggest loss.
 25. We get 5 non district games.   I would like to see 1)Ozen or Central   2)PNG or NED and then 3 good teams from 5A.     I like the local games with lots of fans there, and we don't get that very often.    I don't think we have to play 5 state contenders to get ready for district.
