  1. Brook still has a shot at the Beaumont Bowl, but I'm afraid Katy, NS, Westfield and Ike could teach our youngsters some painful lessons.
  2. A friend of mine caught a nice tarpon while trout fishing at the jetties Saturday. Tried to post a pic, but the file is too large. How do you condense photos enough to get them to post?
  3. How long is his bat? 31/21? He could go to a drop 8(maybe 23 oz) if he's a strong kid, but I doubt any 13 is going to a high school bat(drop 3) I guess some parents are trying to prepare their kids for high school, but age 13 seems a little young. You sure would give up a lot of bat speed. JMO
  4. Depends on the league he will play in. Most kids swith to "big barrells" If you came from little league, your kid used a 2 1/4 inch barrell which might have been a light as a drop 13(the weight in oz is 13 less than the lenght in inches) Light "big barrells" will be drop 10(only 3 oz heavier) Junior league only allows bats up to 2 5/8 in diameter, but some leagues allow 2 3/4.

  6. Yes it did. Not sure if Brook can move the ball. I can only hope that Lufkin is great. :-\
  7. Well, maybe Brook will get one win this year. ;D
  8. Man! I was afraid it might be bad, but not 46-0. Hope someone who saw the scrimmage will post. Obviously, we weren't very good anywhere, and Lufkin is probably the real deal.
  9. Is this still on? Anybody heard anything?
  10. 4 walks for Fontenot already. Not close on a lot of pitches. Did get a strike out on the #9 hitter.
  11. It's not just that Vidor won a scrimmage, it's how they did it. They apparently dominated the line of scrimmage. You can say all you want about it being a "practice", but if you get pushed around, starters against starters, it means something. jmo
  12. Dayton has to be a little concerned seeing Vidor put up 28 in a half.
  13. In his defense , it's tough to exercise good form while fighting off a couple of blockers.
  14. Nice play, but what exactly was that running back doing? ???
  15. For you MLB gurus, how does this work? Trade deadline is 7/31, but Pudge is traded in august. Just wondering.
  16. its been 1 year for png.district champs in 2007. No offense intended, but I think PNG has maybe 3 post season wins since 1999. That's not good enough for PNG faithful and they expect better every year. That's all I'm saying.
  17. BH fans are a lot like PNG. You seem to think that a coach should be able to come in and win with the talent on hand and a dose of tradition. It doesn't matter much what the coach does if you can't control the line of scrimmage. Neither BH nor PNG have been able to do that consistently for the last few years. No offense works very well with defenders in the backfield. JMO
  18. Not sure what you are trying to say. Their(they're) 12 so you can't take some pitches? What does "our playing days" have to do with this? It's a simple discussion on whether you should take some pitches or not, in little league, where pitch counts play a part.
  19. With the pitch counts at 85, taking pitches is a smart play sometimes. If you can get the opposing pitcher to throw a lot of pitches in the first couple of innings, you might see more fastballs later on, when coaches are trying to preserve pitches. At this level, you can't count on getting a fastball with pitch number 1 anyhow. Seems like the kid was just as likely to lead off with a breaking pitch, which we all know is what better pitchers do as they mature.
  20. I'm headed to Wild Wings to cheer 'em on! Go BC
  21. They are small, Short. Looks like our O Line will only average 250-260 this year. Not sure if we will be able to push you guys around like we have gotten used to.
  22. Hard to tell, but they look small to me.
  23. How big is Percy now? He is a heck of an athlete, but I haven't seen him lately.
