I don't think this game is gonna happen, but, if it does, Central will be fine unless the Ball line is really huge. i didn't see that much difference between the Central run defense and Lufkin, to be honest. They got pressure early, but I think got a little discouraged late. If they can stay close, they will be tough.

I am only responding to the thread. i didn't start it. it asked, "who would win head-to head without regards to size". If you want to start a thread about who will go farthest, or who will win more games this year, fine. Do it and quit whining. But this thread is about who is best in this area and it seems that you are somehow insulted that most everyone believes thar Brook is much better than all the smaller teams in this area. What happened when WOS played a quality 4A opponent? That should give you your answer.

No one will know for sure since we don't play, but, we will have some common opponents with other area teams this year. That should give us some benchmark. Agreed?

That's fair enough. Both of those teams have history behind them.

Earl obviously knows a lot more about football than the coaches/AP/ and all other polls that rank WB in the top 25 in the state. We probably won't make the playoffs.

Central D is much better than you think. They will give the teams you mentioned "fits". Dayton doesn't run clock, PNG was fortunate to get past a so-so Crosby team, and the smaller schools just can't put enough big bodies on the field for 4 quarters. Look, I wish all these teams much success, but this thread is about who is the best team in this area, and I don't see them competing with WB. Westfield, North Shore etc. is a different story.

No team on this list would come within 30 points of beating West Brook. I agree that West Brook would beat all and win in this district, but to say none of these teams would come within 30 points is a HUGE stretch. If none of these teams could come within 30, you should have no problems winning state. Being that a couple of these teams (especially the 4a's) will probably go deep in the playoffs and maybe state. You havent faced a good run stopping team yet....practically some of the worst. Obviously, you have forgotten about the Lufkin scrimmage. I know, scrimmages don't count, but, we put up 30 in one half against a state ranked team with tons of returning starters whose strength was their defense. But, to say that you could beat the 2nd best team in this area (behind WB) by 30 is a bit obnoxious. You want to turn neutral people, like myself, against your school......that is the fastest way to do it on this board. Some of these teams can effectively run the ball against anybody in the state...eating up clock. Tough to put up 50+ on someone like that. Which teams can run against anybody in the state?
