  1. I think Albert Williams(WB) is at Tulane. Also: WEST BROOK DE Shane McCardell- Mississippi St. OT Ryan Pollard- Texas A&M-Kingsville WR Josh Powdrill- Navarro College PORT ARTHUR MEMORIAL DB David Whitmore- Nebraska WR Freddie King- Sam Houston St. QB Harry Brown- Texas Southern OL Reginald Broussard- Texas Southern WR Jalonzo Thomas- Southern Arkansas OL Kevin Thomas- Stephen F. Austin DB Anthony Cocrell- Trinity University
  2. OOOOPS!.....I guess Chaisson is still at Arkansas. I noticed that Hall was not on the 2008 A&M roster.
  3. Arkansas is not in the big 12.
  4. Just what I was thinking. He doesn't want it bad enough.
  5. Don't like the looks of the new computer models.
  6. He's only throwing about 40 mph? The coach who forfeited(or parents who pulled their kids) should be banned. What wimps!
  7. I have to agree with Short. Not much pass rush and our backers didn't really fill the holes like I hoped they would. i will say this, even when the first team was running, I saw many occasions where starters(lb's) were not in the game. It looked like we were working in about 5 different backers during the first half. Hopefully, they will be better when the rotation is finally set. I also expect a couple of guys to see action both ways. We have players who can help in the defensive backfield.
  8. CM will definately be a big part of any success WB has. However, Garrett looked good when he ran the ball. And, don't worry about that scoreboard loss. Everyone who was there knows that WB won that scrimmage everywhere but the final scoreboard. We could have rushed for 400 yards if we wanted.
  9. I think Chavis(DE) will be missed most at WB. We are going to need to find a pass rusher quick.
  10. John's at The Air Force Academy. I think he will be starting this year.(or at least get significant playing time)
  11. Owls Rice athletics with Moisekapenda Bower August 23, 2008 Owls camp: It's over Twelve games and three months should provide ample opportunity to judge the coaching acumen of David Bailiff and his staff, and barring another series of catastrophic injuries, those who closely follow the goings on at The Stadium will have an idea of what Bailiff can accomplish on the field by Thanksgiving weekend. The Owls concluded their second camp under Bailiff on Saturday morning, and did so rigorously. Bailiff challenged his team to complete 24 periods in smothering heat, a send-off that marked a stark contrast to the country club atmosphere of 2005. Bailiff spent the past month lauding the benefits of continuity and senior leadership to all within earshot, and the value of those components were evident while the Owls put the disaster that was 2007 in the rear view mirror. "That's what made it where those guys raised the bar higher on expectations and simple work ethic," Bailiff said. "This entire camp we did that. I thought that we could practice longer and harder than we could in our first two-a-days here." Forever the diplomat, Bailiff avoided commenting on the unresolved concerns at the close of camp. However, we'll play mind reader and fill in the blanks on what went right, what went wrong, and on the players deserving special recognition. PRE-CAMP CONCERNS Resolved : The offensive line. Save for a forgettable effort during the second scrimmage, this reconstructed unit meshed well and was surprisingly stable. Unresolved : Special teams. There was no need for Bailiff to comment. The punters/kickers have struggled, and despite the influx of speed via the freshmen, the return game will feature old standbys Brandon King and Ja'Corey Shepherd. Most Outstanding Player OFF - Patrick Randolph. DEF - Brian Raines. Most Improved Player OFF - Randolph. DEF - Chance Talbert. Bailiff loves his size and strength in the trenches. Most Surprising Players Travis Bradshaw and David Falgout (tie). The walk-on safeties have been solid. Newcomers of Note OFF - Shane Turner. The lithe freshman will impact the running and passing attacks. DEF - Arnoud Gascon-Nadon. Bailiff on AGN: "He possess attitude and plays like he's been here two or three years. He's aggressive, runs well and is focused."
  12. I would like to see him on the defensive side a little more. Talent seems a little wasted with the occasional carry and a few times thrown to each game.
  13. Here goes: RB Christine Michael--no brainer QB-Christian Lewis--best in area WR-Donte Lopez, Ryan Grant---will put up big numbers OL--Nick Andrepont, DL--Roland Bordelon LB--Taylor Reed These guys start on any team in the area. Others will be there as well, I just need to see more of them. I guess that's why they call it a PRESEASON team.
  14. Da Brook goes for 7 or 8 wins. Katy, north Shore, Ike and Westfield will cost us at least two losses, maybe 3. Im going with 8-2 with wins over Ike and NS.
  15. Maybe, but he's bigger, stronger and faster than your linebackers. The Dline better be able to control the line of scrimmage.
  16. I like Ozen's defense but do you really think they are better than Lufkin?
  17. Ok. Well, good luck to La Marque(when they are not playing against our SE Texas boys) ;D
  18. The very fact that a debate exists at all says a lot about CM. Just to be mentioned in the same argument with Jamaal should tell you something about this guy.
  19. So true! That's why Erwin left LaMarque, he saw what was coming up! It's apparent you have no idea what you're talking about...get a clue fella! Where did ya grab that one from...just sounded like a good thing to say to make you look like you know what you're talking about...uninformed is more like it? On another note, to make an overall evaluation of ANY team based on a scrimmage of all things only shows a clear lack of knowledge of football...it's controlled practice...nothing more and I wouldn't look too far into it otherwise you're just grasping at straws! Let's get off that high horse, xLmCoog88. The fall will be more painful from that height. I'm on no high horse nor am I overly concerned with the near/future of the success of La Marque Football as some of your posters are as they take swipes when the chance arises. Our reputation as a power in region 3 speaks for itself and if you think LM football is going to the dumps then perhaps it's just wishful thinking on your part? Also, I merely confronted the original poster as to his knowledge of him knowing the real reason(s) as to why Erwin left La Marque. I don't pretend to have in depth knowledge of the inner workings of triangle programs so you will rarely see me throw out a guess such as to why a coach may have left a program to avoid making myself look foolish by guessing. Facts are hard to come by on some of these boards it's seem as of late and that's unfortunate...don't you agree? I don't see anyone taking swipes at LMarque. And no one thinks Central is the next state champ based on one scrimmage. It does mean that Central was competitive against a traditional powerhouse(it's a compliment to LaMarque when we gauge the status of our programs by our competitiveness against yours ) and for Central, that is a step in the right direction. Do you have a problem with that, Coog?
  20. You can choose to believe me or not, but, CM is a much tougher runner than Jamaal ever was. He may not have the speed. but he just doesn't go down.
  21. Lufkin QB was a good runner. Passing was not very accurate.
  22. AJ I was wondering if you made it to the game. Please give these people some idea what we are seeing here at WB.
  23. Sounds like Central was in it. Go Jags!
