SFA, I understand why you would pick NS. Heck, just look at their recent success. But I'm a little surprised that you give Brook no shot. Are you a Brook hater or do you feel that NS is truly that strong?

I won't believe we have any around here until (1) reliable pic on game camera or(2) someone shoots one and brings it in. Too many hunters with game cams not to have lots of pics if they were around. JMO

In my opinion, croaker are about the best inshore fish to eat(if you can catch them big enough to fool with) The meat is firm and freezes well(unlike a speck). I love to hit sabine in the fall and catch at least one good mess of croaker.

There will be more than 4 playing college ball.

My advice? Don't worry about it. These coaches get paid to win, and if your kid is good enough to help the team, he will get his chance. It might take a little while to get past the name recognition problem, but it will happen eventually for the really talented kids.

Pretty fair assessment, I think. We will just have to see how Westbrook is looking defensively when district rolls around.

Westbrook tried to schedule the Texas Longhorns last year, but they wouldn't play us. i think they were scared of losing to a smaller school. Buncha _ussies!

PNG fans have to be concerned after this. I know it's just a practice, and maybe all players were not healthy, but it sounds like Jasper was more physical. Doesn't bode well for a 4A team to get beat physically by a smaller school.

Whatever Brook fans and players did, it was nothing compared to what will happen when Ozen/Central beat WB. Brook was coming off some bad years when they nipped Ozen years ago, and I think they had every reason to be excited. From what I saw, it was just good old fashion happiness, not nose-rubbing or name calling, and I think that is O.K. Sounds a little like sour grapes to me.

If you wade a ways west from rollover, you will find little patches of shell in 3 ft of water. Fish those with something like a cocahoe on a real light jighead.
