Boys will be boys. Nobody was injured and the coaches and refs can handle it from here. Why does this have to turn into something more than it is? A couple of shoving matches involving teenagers don't reflect anything on the communities involved. Move on and get over it.

I agree Pluto, but let me add one thing. If your child likes sports, spend as much time as possible with him/her to make the child better at whatever sport they choose. It's just more fun for them if they feel good about themselves. Kids will never enjoy sports much if they stink at them. They don't have to be told they are bad; they know. Some parents seem to think the kid is going to have fun just because they are out there. I don't think that is true. They will have fun if they can contribute in a meaningful way. JMO ps---just make sure that you find a way to make practicing fun

Can't say I'm shocked. I would be shocked if any teams from our district advance more than 1 round into the playoffs. The talent level for all these teams is just not there.

Bruins lose in OT > :( Disappoiting loss. WB led all the way until the end. Just not enough guys who can create shots and poor foul shooting. we were way more athletic, but far less disciplined. Tough loss.

OK. I reread Watash's posts. I'm not sure he is blaming all Kelly's losses on the field size. It seems to be his OPINION that Kelly plays better on a regulation size field. You seem to have all the answers, so I will ask you. Can field size affect a teams style of play? Or, is it just coincidence that Kelly seems to have it's best games on the larger fields?

Shark If you havent noticed by now, FF only comes on here to bash Kelly. Go look at his/her past posts. We don't mind you promoting Friendswood teams on here, FF. But, why must you say something negative about Kelly with every other post? Do you do this to private schools on other sites?

At 13, they play loose bases in Little League(called Junior League). I prefer tight bases at the younger levels. You actually see force plays in Little League. In PONY, the young catchers and pitchers can't hold the runners. A walk is an automatic triple for most kids, with the batter taking pitches to let them steal. They MIGHT learn base running better, but they sure don't learn the art of the middle infield as well. JMO

But they did have Bosh to help control Perkins. Those quick guards didn't stop Perkins.

In high school, a truly dominant big man is more important. Some are just so big that double teams don't help. You can always double team a great guard and take the ball out of his hands.(unless he is KOBE)

Better for what? They both teach the kids the game. The individual league depends on the volunteers and support it gets from the community. My guess is lots more kids play Little League, but I don't think that makes it better.

Why Hussey? Rhodes had more yards on fewer carries, more TD's, and even threw in some returns.

I think West Brook will really struggle this year, in a tough district. They are going to need some young pitchers to step up big time if they are going to have any success. It won't surprise me to see them drop some games to smaller schools this year. I just hope they can get it all togethor by the time district rolls around.
