Nah. It was directed more at people who thought that Iran was so scared of Reagan that they cut loose all the hostages. -
US-Russian Tensions Escalate Amid Ukraine Crisis

Yeah. Here is the story: In an effort to win release of the hostages, Marine Lt. Col. Oliver North, along with members of the National Security Council and the CIA, sold weapons to Iran. Iran, at the time engaged in a war with Iraq and considered a terrorist nation by the U.S., was believed to have influence with the hostage-takers. The Iranians were overcharged for the weapons, and North then funneled the extra proceeds from the arms sale to the contras in Nicaragua. The operation resulted in several direct violations of stated U.S. policy and congressional mandate. Investigations during the Iran-contra affair revealed a "shadow government," operating without public knowledge or congressional approval, being run out of the White House. For months, Reagan refused to admit that arms were traded for hostages -- that he had, indeed, negotiated with terrorists. Meanwhile, congressional hearings were convened to investigate the illegal diversion of funds to the contras. The all-too-familiar question of "what did the president know, and when did he know it," summoned up the ghosts of Watergate. -

So, you sound like you want military action against Russia. Is that it? And, I don't see how the war in Iraq went "remarkably well". What did all that money and all those lives do for Americans? Is the country now free from terrorism? But that is not the question. Poster on here want to say that Russia is emboldened by presidential weakness. No matter what our response, the same must have been true when Ike and Bush were in office. Right? -

Yeah, it's always the presidents fault when some country gets aggressive with it's neighbor. Remind me please which president was responsible for north Korea invading the South, Iraq going into Kuwait, and the Serbian conflict -
I had 2 kids go through BISD and I don't really have any major complaints about the education. That said, I do pay A LOT of taxes to BISD. I care because they could lower my taxes a little if they would quit wasting money. If you live here, you should care. And, if I am going to pay all these taxes, it better damn well go to the kids and teachers.

Ozens, do you really want that board to stay in control, or are you just poking? Who do you think should be held responsible for the millions that were lost? I understand that crooks are always looking for a way to steal, but don't you think SOMEBODY should have noticed when the theft hits 8 million?

I have to ask. Why should we care what % are white or protestant? Why does that matter? -
The man could have made somemoves early on which might have saved his job. For whatever reason, he just wouldn't do what needed to be done.

My point was that this guy was given multiple opportunities to exercise grazing rights and he refused. But, now it's convenient to blame his problems on the turtles. And, the article seems to indicate that it's not only turtles who will benefit. Somehow, that got left out of your article. You don't believe that cattle can destroy desert habitat?

The Gold Butte area is an expanse of highly scenic, wild Mojave desert wedged in between the towns of Mesquite and Bunkerville, Nevada, the Grand Canyon Parashant National Monument, and the north shore of Lake Mead. It's important habitat for some of the most northerly populations of the Federally Threatened desert tortoise. "From the standpoint of wildlife, the springs and riparian areas in Gold Butte are vital," said John Hiatt, Red Rock Audubon's conservation chairman. "The most immediate result of the removal of the trespass cattle will be the recovery of the vegetation around these water sources which will benefit all wildlife species." "Mr. Bundy has long falsely believed that Gold Butte is his ranch," added friends of Sloan Canyon's president Terri Robertson. "We all know that is not the reality, and it is time for him for obey the law." According to Nevada conservationists, a number of attempts to revegetate habitat in the Gold Butte area have been destroyed by the trespass cattle. In 1998, five years after Bundy began to refuse to pay his publicly subsidized grazing fees in 1993, the BLM finally revoked his grazing permit for failure to pay those fees. Clark County then bought out that permit for $375,000 and retired them permanently to protect the desert tortoise under the Clark County Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan. Of interesting note, other ranchers in the area don't support the guy because he refuses to pay a nominal grazing fee. He claims the land is not owned by the government.

Sounds like a done deal. Now, what noticable change does anybody expect? Some things will certainly get cleaned up, but does anybody believe this will affect the kids? Life will go on, TEA will come and go, but I just don't see how, eventually, we won't end up in this same mess. This community is just too divided to kiss and make up. Sad.

How could McCraney say that with a straight face?
-
I think you shouldn't be allowed to vote unless you pay at least $50k in taxes. How about that?
-
Looks like BISD is in full damage control mode. Finally getting rid of people in an effort to stave off TEA. I don't think it's going to work.
-
Then the birther issue is not an issue for you. No need to comment on it. And, I don't think you can point us to a single post where anyone said that citizenship was a non-issue.
-
That might be relevant, except Obama was pretty clearly born in America. You disagree?
-
Same for me. I hope Cruz gets the nomination just so I can watch the birthers backtrack. .

Quit trolling. Bullets. You know good and well that the Hawaii birth certificate was a forgery.

LOL. if it is a political organization that you guys support. then it's ok to try to avoid taxes.
