I, for one, don't like using live or dead bait. I just don't enjoy it. I would rather catch nothing. Same goes for rattle traps. My friends use them and they catch a lot of fish. I don't like to jack with them. BTW, I also bow hunt and don't really care much if I kill anything.

Dang! How many times are we going to have to look at that little 2 year old cull? ;D
Change your phone settings to desktop. For iPhone : I couldn't find the desktop option for the default Safari browser, but if you get Google Chrome from the app store it does give you the 'request desktop site' option. This seems to work for the iPhone.
Yeah, i don't see that setting on my IPad, and it's pretty useless for this site, as is. -

Lots of birds but mostly undersized trout, sandtrout and an occasional redfish.
In my experience fishing under birds yields mostly smaller trout. I'm no professional, but that has been my experience.
I think that is mostly true. However, we occasionally find a lot of keepers under the birds. Solid 17-18 inchers. Hasn't happened yet this year for me.

West Brook ends season with victory

I know for a fact that the new coach worked his rear off to try and field a decent team. He just has very little talent to work with right now. This season is not on the coaching staff. Bruins just don't have any game changing playmakers. -
Im new to the duck business. Went this past weekend and killed a few. Anybody have any good methods on ways to prepare/cook duck, and how to get the gamey taste out?
Soak the duck breat in milk overnight. Then, wrap in bacon with a slice of jalepeno. Place on an oak plank and put in oven for about an hour. Take it out, throw away the duck and eat the plank. ;)

If I had no boat, I would start at the Keith Lake pass. If the tides is moving, you can always catch something there if you get some live bait.

I must have seen 500 ducks on Sabine Lake Wednesday. Somebody should be doing pretty good. I do know that my sons friends limited pretty easily in anahuac opening morning.
-
Just got back from Sabine. Same story. Lots of birds but very few keepers. Only kept a couple of reds and a couple of trout.
-
Went out to Junction last weekend. Surprisingly, saw a couple of bucks chasing does. Looks like the rut has started a little earlier than usual at our place. They don't normally start chasing until around Thanksgiving.

By next week, I should be chasing those reds. Think Chester will go with a "lefty"?
you should master the skill of getting the boat in the stall and on the sling before you venture out of the Port Authority to chase Reds around the lake. Glad to hear that you are at the port authority these days, its safer for you there. :)
Yeah, well. SC says he is taking you out this weekend. I'll be in Junction so I won't have to watch him wreck the new boat. Good luck!

Do admins give out personal info about posters?
No, we do not give out that information. In some cases we do know the identity of some members but that normally is given to us on a voluntary basis from that member. We have had folks ask us who a member is, but we do not give out that info. The mention of us admins monitoring members for multiple accounts, we do check IP addresses to keep that violation of site rules under control.
So, the people bragging about going to friends to find out info are full of crap?
Most definitely. Generally, I echo the statement of AggiesAreWe above that we simply as a matter of policy do not provide that information. As far as I know, those who have their identities known on this are those that, like me, have revealed that information voluntarily. And specifically, I have no desire to get into the bickering amongst a bunch of Joe Torre wannabes that has become the hallmark of select sports. Signed respectfully, yours truly Todd J. Broussard Katy, Texas
Ha ha! Just wondering.
Do admins even have personal info other than knowing someone personally? I thought that all you needed was a screen name and an email address to sign up. In any case, I am a moderator and not and administrator but I have never heard of such a thing.
Go look at the youth baseball site. They are all talking about getting each other's names and IP addresses. I don't know what info the admins have about each poster, but it seems that somebody might be passing out names.
