1. Brook beat vidor 6-3.  vidor is goog to be a handful in 20-4a
2. Were you dealing with rain issues?  If so, what did you expect?  Cancellation of the tourney?
3.
SMH!!!  WB collapsed like a lung over the last few games!!!  Losing LAST 5 GAMES TO MISS THE PLAYOFFS!!!! :o
Brook lost a couple of players down the stretch.  They were already thin talent wise, and the loss of a player or two was too much to overcome.  Certainly, the coaching didn't help.
4. Fair enough.  I can only judge by what I have seen at Ford Park, Field of Dreams, Sulphur, Baseball USA, etc.
5.

I've watched plenty of "complete" baseball at age 12 and under.  Get on first, take a few pitches while the runner steals 2nd and 3rd.  No real infielder work, no getting lead runners.  Even the outfielders don't learn where to throw the ball in a "real" situation.  I like select and I think the kids learn a lot from it, but it is no closer to "real" baseball than little league at the younger ages.   And the crowds are nothing like little league all-star crowds.  Just parents.    JMO
Then you have obviously been missing some great baseball. The example you used is exactly what happens at the local league level, not in the higher divisons like Major (USSSA), Premier (Nations), or National (Super Series) and so on. Much higher level of play. If you really want to compare them for example go watch the little guys, 8 and 9 yr olds in Major or Premier, they will impress you no doubt. Seeing 7,8,9 yr olds turn a flawless 4-6-3 DP in a 2-1 game is a joy to behold. Watching kids execute a suicide squeeze in the bottom of the last inning, seeing a catcher completely shut down the running game, or perfectly timed pick off are all parts of the game that are missing from the LLWS. Can or do all the kids at that age do it, no, absolutely not. I'm talking about the best teams in the nation, just like what shows up at Williamsport. Again this is not a bashing thread, just a good discussion about baseball. I certainly enjoy the opportunity to discuss it because like all of us here it's what we do. With much respect, Rake1
No question that these elite teams have more good players, but next time you go to a tourney(i'm talking about 12 and under), tell me how many steals there are each game and how many runners are thrown out.  if you are honest, it will look nothing like "real" baseball.

7.
I know it is early, but is there truly an elite world series for youth, outside of the organized leagues (Little League / Pony / etc.)?  I know all about the Nations / USSSA world series, and some of the open world series such as the one in Flower Mound.  Is there a youth world series that is thought more highly of, or is perhaps more well-respected out there?
There is nothing close to the Little League World Series.  Period.
8. Westbrook played several fall games against Vidor and I thought they looked good.
9. Try Nederland Babe Ruth.  Good competition in a fun atmosphere.
10. Good.  Glad to see them in Houston.
11. Brook is at Clear Creek today. Brook tied 3-3 after 12.
12. Hard to draw many conclusions based on a scrimmage played in cold weather, where both sides threw 7-8 pitchers.  Brook did appear to have a much deeper hitting team, but if both sides throw their best guys, i suspect the game would be pretty close.
13. Westbrook up 16-4 when I left.
14. Brook is not a young team, but pitching is really a question mark.
15. Brook and LCM moved to 2:00 tomorrow.
16.
I believe that LCM scrimmages Kelly today at Kelly at 4p.m. Thought Westbrook scrimmaged at LCM?
17.
I have a boat im interested in, but the tags are out of date! I want to run it before I buy, do y'all think the Wardens will understand?
Yep.  I do.  Unless you smart off, most of those guys are fairly reasonable.
18. Don't worry.  A good day fishing heals all wounds. ;)
19. Photo shopped.  I've seen those fish before on a TP@W website.    ;)
20. If you don't have pics, it didn't happen.      :D
21. Uh oh.  Somebody's kid didn't make the team.
22. I don't know what is causing it, but go ask the orthopedic docs around here and they will tell you that they are seeing more serious arm injuries in young kids than ever before.
23.

My question is what made league ball the standard?  Why couldn't one say league ball is hurting select ball?
The biggest difference between the two is coaching. As a general rule you will get better coaching from a select league. Most select players play league for fun. I don't see how league would hurt select.....
???  I hope they play both "for fun".
