Is PNG going to offer open enrollment??
What would be the harm in it? I understand they only want 'their own' going to school there, but does it hurt anything to offer it?
I don't know. would the parents of these "open enrollment" kids be paying taxes to the PNGISD? -
Are they giving out J.V. E.R.A. awards this year? The P.N.G. team, pitcher and coach did a good job against Ned.J.V.It was just Ned's night. It was P.N.G.'s night in the first outing.I wish these two teams could play more than twice this season. They are fun to watch!
Why haven't they played more. Don't they each host tourneys? Plus, a couple of district games.

I wasn't at the game but this is what I hear. First, memorial played pretty well. Their pitcher did a good job and they made some very good plays defensively in the outfield. Secondly. Brook tried to finsh out the game with a kid who hasn't pitched this year due to arm injuries and then another sophomore. It sounds as if these kids did well enough to finish out the game, but a couple of costly errors in the last sealed the deal. Congrats to Memorial. Now Brook, don't hang your heads. Get out there and play better next time.
I'm sorry, but all baseball is about fun, but once you get past backyard baseball it's time to start working to make yourself better. If the players don't like the "coaches opinion" suck it up and prove him wrong. And yes this does teach life lessons, just because you don't like the bosses opinion doesn't mean you quit your job. One last thing, would they quit if PNG was winning?
Who knows. It;'s not all about winning. would they quit if it was fun?
Coaches do more than just coach. They prepare these kids for life. Many of these boys have not been discipllined at home leaving the coaches the unenviable task of teaching them life's lessons on the ball field. I think that the most successful high school ballplayers.....the one's who stick with the program in good times as well as bad, lead the most successful lives after high school.
I think you are missing the point. High school baseball is NOT about the rest of your life. Most of these kids will say goodbye to baseball the minute they finish their last high school game. It's a sport. It's supposed to be fun. Believe it or not, there is a way to teach baseball without making it a chore. I understand that it's not little league, but it's still a game after all.

At some point this needs to be said. So here goes. Coaches in this area(not all) need to understand that high school baseball is supposed to be fun. I know the coaches are under tremendous pressure to win. Their jobs depend on it. But, when you look at the number of good players in our area who decide that they no longer want to play baseball, something is wrong. My advice is probably worthless, but I would tell the coaches who have moral problems to try and find a way to make these years a little more fun. High school ball just doesn't seem like it's a fun as it was when I played. JMO
That's great but let me ask you this......if you had the cash where would you send you're baby boy?????to a select coach? No sir..hall of fame big league top dawg,Kelly go get the boy's and be proud of what talent you have earned other than have bought. Just my opinion!!!!!
??? ??? ??? -
I'm sure he was thinking, "I'm up 12-0, maybe I can get another kid a little experience". He might even have thought, "it's just a JV game and there is no real championship here, and no playoff implications". He probably even thought," even if we give up a few, this high powered team will score plenty more". The negativity over a jv game THAT YOU WON, is amazing.

OK. Runners on 1st and 3rd. Coach calls timeout and infield gets together. They successfully do the hidden ball trick, giving the ball to the 3rd baseman. Pitcher takes the mound(but maybe not on rubber, that is disputed among the witnesses). Runner at 3rd is tagged out when he leads off. If pitcher was on rubber, i assume it is a balk. Real question is, when does play resume after a timeout? Can the runner be tagged out before the home ump signals the pitcher that play has resumed?

Wilson and Guillory each hit one tonight. I think that's 5 for Wilson and 4 for Guillory. -
Wilson for Westbrook.
Brook started the season with 1 pitcher who had varsity experience. With Wilson back, and a couple of kids starting to come through, they have played better. They have had to muddle through with 4 -5 sophs on the mound during the early part of the season, but they are now 7-9 and they are competing better.
obviously you did'nt know that kid Guillory was 3rd in the rotation behind Warner and Wilson last year and got some wins under his belt besides catching!
Guillory was actually the ONE kid I was referring to. Warner and Wilson were both unavailable at the start of the season.
Every year it seems that Coach Mixon successfully brings someone in to pitch that had not been a pitcher.
I could be wrong but I seem to remember this kid pitching in little league and junior league(13-14). I don't think this is a kid who has never pitched.
