Westbrook Derrian James(3)hit 2 more against Kingwood tonight.

Brook is just trying to survive.  6 of last years 8 returning pitchers are unavailable.  One transfer, one quit for soccer, one failed and three sore arms.  I'm afraid it's not going to be pretty today when the sophs come in.

Interesting proposal, but I have seen lots of youth baseball and I don't think i have ever seen a coach pull his best shortstop from the game and let him go warm up while he watches to see if his pitcher is going to get out of a jam.  It just doesn't happen.  Maybe it should, but the only way it will is if a new rule is written requiring it.

In closing I want evryone to know that no way am I pointing fingers at anyone.  Nor do I think I have all the answers.  I want to put as much information out there that I can and hope we can all come together as coaches to find the best ways to help our youth.  If anyone wants to see what we do to prepare pitchers I welcome you to our academy anytime.  I thought that this was a good time to share some of our ideas we use to train pitchers.  It has been very effective for us.  Thank you for allowing me a place to express opinions and ideas. I'm really curious which does more damage.  Throwing curveballs or 200-300 wiffle balls or wall balls?  Should I be ashamed for letting my 8 year old play wall ball for 2 hours?

Brook should have a solid OLine and good receivers and backs.    Stump(or whoever takes that spot) will have plenty to work with.  Defensively, there are quite a few holes to fill.  I think there will be 6 new starters, including all of the linebackers and both Ends.  I think they will be down compared to the last couple of years, but I also thought that 2 years ago when Christine Michael graduated, and things turned out ok.

[/quote] Westbrook is going to struggle to find enough pitching this year.  The loss of warner, plus a couple of other juniors who are out with arm trouble, has left them even thinner.  they have a few kids that might be a ble to step up, but it's hard to tell since none of the Brook pitchers are allowed to throw breaking pitches this early in the season.

They have some physical talent, but skills need lots of work.  i think they will win a few this year.
