I know one of my kids discovered that comments from the bench are not acceptable and the entire team will now come in on Monday for some extra "conditioning".  PNG has a very "supportive" student body and I am cool with that because so de we and most soccer teams would love to have their fellow students out there making it difficult on the opponent. Third, did the West End care when the Bruins were winning (quarterfinals in 2001, regionals in 2000) or did they not care before? Is it safe to say that the West End doesn't care because West Brook is losing? Which is it, the chicken or the egg? [/quote] The chicken, I guess.  Go to any Brook game. whether winning or losing.  You will see a group of parents and a small group of dedicated students.  I go to some games, but not many.  Basketball is just not a big draw in the west end.  Maybe, if they go a few rounds deep. a few more people will show up, but i bet there weren't that many who went to the quaterfinals.  Maybe you were there?  How many Brook fans did you see?

[/quote] At West End, we have a modified kid pitch.  Kids don't walk.  They either hit or a coach comes in and gives them 3 pitches.  We also don't score on wild pitches.  Since we have 2 years of coach pitch before the 8 year old year, i think they are ready to get the  on the mound and get  ready for the minor leagues.  Also good for the hitters to see some live pitching before the 9 year old year.  Pure kid pitch can be slow at that age, but the modified system works out well for us.  JMO
