yeah it is more prevalant in the bay system, if you want cut down on the gill plate cuts get you some boga grips, they save the hands tremedously. Ciguatera is more prevalant offshore but your not gonna contract that easily unless you eat the wrong fish.

Depends on where i hunt, i have two places it is safe for the dog and the rest i will leave him home.

Just a little piece of experience, If you get cut or scraped in saltwater and it starts turning red even a little bit, GO TO THE HOSPITAL...........I waited three days and if i hadn't then they would have had to admit me. 2 shots in the butt later i was sent home for 3 days bed rest and was told not put my leg lower than my heart. I also have to take a shower every 4 hours with dial soap.

My dog has been chompin' at the bit since last year. He has been nice enough to bring me every baby bird that was kicked out of the nest in my back yard. Good thing he has a soft mouth even though 2 were dead when the hit the ground.

sorry guys i seem to have aquired a bad infection in my leg and never posted a link up for the pic's. doctor put me on bedrest for 3 days and a heavy dose of cipro. TVC- it is catfish. I personally don't keep any bass caught on a jugline. Although i do snag some big stripers from time to time.

No not since my buddy's boat peeled loose. It is in the shop being re-laminated and gel-coated. My buddies went of galveston last thursday to the clay-piles and loaded up on snapper and ling. They had a few small kings they relesed. My last trip out there were plenty of weedlines but no dolphin, unusual..... Shrimpers season ought to be on pretty soon, blackfin tuna will be my target then.

well we ran jugs and rod n reel fished on conroe saturday night. Ended up with a box full of eaters. caught a 15lb and 24lb rod n reel. we released the 24 the 15 would have been relesed but his gills were tore up, cicle hook didn't do his job good. we had a jug with a 25 lb and 33lb on it, that was fun. we chased it for a good 1/2 a mile. all in all it was fun but a slow night for conroe, the full moon i think had us messed up. This was my first trip this year with no hybrids.......

I knew i should have made the drive over there this weekend. I settled for east bay saturday and conroe saturday night.

what's the water condition in sabine? has the rain got you guys screwed up too?

I wonder if any offshore incidents are reported in those state numbers. Or would they apply to national numbers if your more than nine nm out?

yeah the river is causing me to travel to find any decent saltwater. I wonder if the upper trinity bay is gonna be fresh all summer. Of course that would be good for the duck hunting this season.

has anyone everseen fiberglass on a 10 year old boat just peel off ? We put at GYB this weekend on a run to the Clay Piles and 60 miles out the fiberglass just peeled right of the boat... No we didn't hit anything, the seas were 2-21/2 ft at the most a little choppy but weve been out in way worse. needless to say we never got to our snapper and AJ hole managed to drum up 6 dolphin and a ling under a weedline. The dolphin sure didn't want to play saturday. It won't let me post the pic of the boat how do i do it?

i am on 2coolfishing, txwaterfowler, the refuge, fishingtx, all as crazy_cajun02 never been a stalker and don't plan on it. I don't post a whole lot on 2cool, i do post on txwaterfowler.

I do see it al the time and it drives me nuts. Bass fisherman especially, of course their not nearly as bad about fingers in the gills as saltwater fisherman. I tell you what i can't go fishing anymore without my "boga Grips" they really save the fingers on snapper.

It drives me nuts to see these tournement fisherman holding a fish that is going to be released with their fingers in the gills. I don't know if the guys on the july issue are really tournement fisherman but they are poertrayed as such, and he has a red with two full fingers inside the gill cover. Do people not realize that is equivalant to shoving a pipe in your lungs?

I love to deer hunt but waterfowling is one of my passions. Most people think i take waterfowling to an extreme.

DID DILLAN AND DANNY CATCH ANYTHING? OOPS (there i go with the caps again) were they fishing by the boat ramp or frozen point. those are some awesome pictures. i wish those squeelers would stick around a little longer, man they are some good eatin'.

if i had to guess it would be over the middle reefs on plumtruse or pumkintruse bass assasins. tell you what i really like the the TTF stuff. the trout killers and killer flats minnow's. I have been putting that killer flats minnow on a bass assassin spinner bait and it works good.
