1. The team that scores the most points  :D
 2.
Is Bennett trying to say BC wasn't good when he got here?
BC being good is a given, them along with Jasper are the standard for SE Texas baseball....He was talking about the district they were in those 2 years and how tough it was.  You had a quality team in Silsbee that didn't go to the playoffs those 2 years...
 3.
Dont think so, not 100% sure.
Yes warm up games count...they are 27-2...Lost to Prosper and Kennedale...
 4. Coach Bennett going back to his old stomping grounds.....
 5. Jacob Felts (OF) has been selected.
 6.
Orangefield gets bye first round 2nd Round Orangefield vs Bryan Rudder @ Baseball USA 2 out of 3 Fri 5/11 and Sat 5/12
It's Friday the 14th and Saturday the 15th.
 7. I'm not sure what you consider a "newcomer." Is it new to varsity or new to a district.  If it's new to a district, no matter what grade, in 21-3A you have to consider Corey Huckabay from Orangefield.  He has fit in with that group and made what was an already good line up even better.  Plus, he has played a very good RF and CF.
Why he only has 3 homers this year, no reason to walk him.
Only?  How many times has he been walked?
He was walked 4 times vs. Silsbee....

Whether or not to start Hester made for a lot of second guessing. No one has questioned the dedication of the coaches to the kids, but this is what they always fall back on. I never said anything about Green not being a good coach. Don't put words in my mouth. So you've NEVER been second guessed because you thought a part was the right decision, in your expert opinion, and some one else had a different opinion?

 11. Orangefield 4 WOS 3 Statum 5 IP, 12 K's; Angelle 2 IP, 2 K's, retired the final 6 batters. Anderson (WOS) 7 IP, 7 hits, 2 K's, 2 BB's Good HS ballgame.  Had playoff atmosphere, good defensive plays and clutch pitching on both sides. Both Statum and Anderson had to deal with an inconsistent strike zone, but they each showed why they are their teams ace.  They battled and made big pitches when needed.
 12.
OF has 12 Evans has 7, Angelle has 3, Statum 1, Felts 1
Evans-7 Angelle-3 Felts-2 Statum-1 Huckabay-1
 13.
Chase Angelle has to be near the top. How many does he have now?
Chase has 3 and Quinton Evans has 4
 14. After seeing Kelly this weekend in the OF tournament and having just played them, I don't feel as if they are underrated.  They are a quality ballclub.  They play good defense and they swing the bats.  Their pitching is pretty good also.  Nothing overpowering, but they throw strikes and spot up very well.  I know that OF feels like they beat a quality team this evening.
 15.
Will it be Orangefield vs Lumberton in the Championship game?
Orangefield vs. PA Memorial in the Championship game.  Before you people say this will be a cakewalk, Memorial is much improved.  Evidently they have some move-ins and they have held their own this weekend.  Memorial swings it well and they have shown glimses of playing quality defense.  Don't know who Memorial has left to pitch, but I'm sure that Coach McFarlin and Coach McKellar will pull something out of the hat.  OF will probably go with Felts.
 16.
Smith, Cardenas, Brady, Raines for Ned. Statum, Angelle, Felts for OF.  I left in the 6th so not sure what happened after.
Whitson, Q. Evans and Watson each threw an inning for the Bobcats....
 17.
He is the best leadoff hitter in the district
???
 18. OF @ Liberty changed from Tuesday to Monday start time still at 5:00
 19. Circle, You need to change the varsity tourney....I believe that's the old bracket....Just checking..
 20. 1st day of practice is January 29th.  The UIL only regulates when after school practice may begin.  Each district has policies on tryouts, cuts, etc.  Email the head coach at the school, they will give you all the information that you will need.
 21.

Actually, this guy's ticket to the next level is in baseball. ;)
Will he be overshadowed by Felts and Statum?
No, he's fit in nicely with that group....Boboandblair, I don't know what kind of agenda you have but obviously you have some sour grapes toward the OF kiddos.  All that happened was that a new coach came in and showed that you could have some success as long as the internal people believe that they can be successful.
 22. Huckaby will probably start out as short stop- but plays outfield and does some pitching as well.
 23.
Orangefield might get alot of rain Friday!!
To quote a famous baseball movie...."You want a rain out, I'll get you a rain out." Or in this case, you want a wet field, I'll get you a wet field.... 8)
 24. With the scenario that you have setup here LAZEEK, this is where the points stand as of right now between HJ, OF, and BC. BC +10 1 game HJ -3 2 games (finished) OF -7 1 game Doesn't look good for HJ. If Orangefield defeats BC by 14 points to push BC to a -4, it would allow Orangefield to move up to a +7. Looks as though HJ has to defeat either WOS or Silsbee to get in or have BC lose to HF which will not happen. OK, here we go...hopefully it won't come down to this but in case it does.....Let's say that HJ beats HF and loses their last 2 to Silsbee and WOS; OF loses to Silsbee this week and WOS in week 10; BC beats HF and loses to WOS this week..it comes down to the OF/BC game.....Based on the point system, OF would have to beat BC by 9 or more to claim the 3rd spot. A BC win or a loss by less than 9 and BC is in. I know it's too early to start talking if this, then that but it's always fun to think about it....Who knows it may become a toad strangler again some Friday night then everything is out the window.....
 25. Although still somewaht new to HS coaching Coach Landry has done exceptionally well in getting his kids to the next level. Shows how much you pay attention, Coach Landry has been a head coach in this area for atleast the last 8-10 years or so.
