  1. They will have all split the season series against each other...The only way that you could solve this is to draw for opponents and play....
  2. You do not have to list subs on the lineup card...the only thing that is "official" is the starting 9 or 10 (if using the DH) that is handed to the home plate umpire at the conference prior to the first pitch being thrown....
  3. How many lbs. was that ago????? Just messin' What game do you have tonight?
  4. Orangefield's Jace Statum has 72 K's in 43.33 innings pitched
  5. Yes, the baseball field is at the High School...If you come in Hwy 90, take a right at the freeway and then take the Port Arthur exit...travel south until you see the Spurlock exit and take a left, go about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile and the field will be on the right...hope that helps...
  6. I heard the spanked the OF pitching Friday night. I don't think that getting 7 hits is exactly spanking a pitching staff...yes, atleast 3 of them were of the extra base variety, but spanking, I don't think so...
  7. Charlie Miller, you haven't changed a bit....if you read this pm me.....
  8. District ballgames in that district have 3 umps...I think it's a good situation, extra set of eyes...
  9. thank you so much...we should be fun to watch...
  10. Thank you TxBaseball for saying that we are not arrogant...I don't feel that we are, we are too young to be arrogant...We had 8 or 9 hits against Reagan, he was good, but couldn't string any of them together...too many free passes and not enough defense against that line-up and you're going to give up some runs...as always we battled to the end...
  11. Will the weather cooperate next week? Games on Tuesday and tournaments next Thurs-Sat?
  12. The Orangefield @ Deweyville scrimmage for Thursday has been moved from 4:30 to 4:00.
  13. Orangefield Scrimmages Feb. 6 Liberty 5:00 Feb. 9 Vidor 4:30 Feb. 15 @ Deweyville 4:30 Feb. 17 Buna 10:00
  14. Or you can be like Katy was last year and go to the state tournament with 3 freshman starting...I realize this may have been the exception to the rule, but if they are your best, play them.....
  15. once again OHS_1994 seems to have all of the answers..I'm sure that Coach Bennett and Coach Fletcher will be sure to consult you once the season begins...why don't you just let them play..Orangefield has a good group returning and they will be the nucleus for this years program...I'm sure that there are holes to be filled and those that will be making the decisions will do what is best for the program...Isn't that what all good coaches do?? Didn't Bennett and Fletcher come from successful programs? why don't you give them a chance to prove themself?
  16. Remember, because of the bye for the district champs, baseball has 7 rounds in the playoffs (Bidistrict, Area, Regional quarterfinals, Regional semifinals, Regional final, State Tournament (Semis and Final). I can see 2 teams from this district making it past the 3rd round which would be the regional quarterfinals only because there is the possiblity that 2 of the 3 teams will meet in this round and then possibly meet again with the right to go to the state tournament. There is one thing for sure about this district, the 14 games that each team has will certainly get them ready for a playoff run.
  17. yes the orangefield tourney is this same weekend. The orangefield tournament is fielding 11 teams this year. Divided into small school and large school, should be a good 3 days of baseball.
  18. This is the 2nd stadium in CFISD. Pridgeon was the first and while it does not have the complex of Berry, it is still a nice stadium. A lot of the Houston area school districts are having to build additional stadiums because of the growth. Cy Fair and Fort Bend each have 2 stadiums and look for Katy to build an additional stadium within the next few years.
  19. OF beats HJ 28-6 and finishes 4-4 overall and 3-3 in district
  20. The kids and coaches should not be punished for being in a weak district. They are placed there by the UIL and they MUST play the district schedule that's given to them. I've seen some teams in a 6 team district that enter the playoffs at 5-5 because they went 5-0 in their district schedule. Look at OF, BC or K'ville (which ever one does not make the playoffs) and possibly even HF; if they were in the district they were to play in the first round, they would be in but because they are in the setexas superdistrict, they will stay at home...don't fault the team, fault the system...and just for the record, I like the 3 team playoff format because it allows for interesting games at the end of the season.
  21. 8th Grade: Orangefield 16 West Orange 0
