  1. I have yet to see a predictin from a WOS fan that said it was going to be an easy win. I went and looked at the 3A downlow site. All I read was a bunch of people trying to stir the pot.
  2. That's what you don't get. He or we don't care if he scores or not. We are a team and we play that way. See, what you may not understand is, the winner of the game will have the most points at the end of the game. The winner is not the team that has a running back that scores or if your brothers out rush our brothers. We don't care. We just want to win by at least 1 point. That's all it takes and then we get to play next weekend.
  3. All of that and still only ranked 6th? Maybe they didn't call you so you could tell them how great yall are. Good Luck.
  4. I understand what you mean. I'm probably a little biased being a Mustang Alumni. I saw Newton play Buna in Lufkin a few weeks ago and that was the first time I have been able to watch Coach Barbay. I've always thought that the two men must be alot alike because of the tradition and the winning tradition. However, their coaching style seems miles apart. One not better than the other. Both effective, just different.
  5. I hope your team is as over confident as you are. You're right about one thing, you haven't given up many points but you also haven't played anyone. Thanks for giving us a few quotes to put on the board in the locker room. I'm sure your team will thank you for them about 10:30 Friday night.
  6. We just want to win. I don't think I would say I WANT to see anyone. However, that would mean we both won and that's a good thing. Careful what you wish for!!!!!
  7. I agree that Coach Barbay is a great coach, I just don't think you can discount Coach Hooks by saying hands down. To me they are on about the same level. Just my opinion. Good luck to the Eagles this weekend.
  8. At least the guy is well spoken and speaks highly of our team and coaches. Too bad we are going to have to send them packing.
  9. Actually I think they teach to be waiting outside of the stall just in case he jumps and runs. ;D
  10. Man, that's refreshing. To hear such a well spoken young man, not to mention a really good football player that is so much fun to watch. If you go to the game, keep your eye lids peeled for #5 on defense.
  11. I'm laughing out loud but it would have been sooo much more funny if you hadn't left out a word...................lol
  12. I hope all of the boys see that the community is behind them. I have to say it's refreshing for a change that we come together instead of the constant battle. I understand it during the season but once my team is out (WOS) I try to support the other local schools, It's nice to see that others are the same way.
  13. I hope all of that happens and then we get to Kville again. Good luck Kville, even though I don't think you need it this week.
  14. Congratulations WB on a great season, from WOS.
  15. As long as we win, I don't care by how much. Just win, baby!!!!!!
  16. I think he did get knocked over by the Mustangs. I could tell from the stands that his ankle was broken. It was turned in a direction that your ankle shouldn't turn.
  17. Coop was that your news guy that broke his ankle before the game started?
  18. I wasn't stereotyping anyone. the part I agreed on was that in any group or organization you have about 20% of the people doing 80% of the work. I wish you would explain to my how it is that you understand why people don't vote. I don't get that part. On a different note I didn't have one taker on my proposal.
  19. Coach Barbay sounds like seasoned veteran. I would look for great things to come from this coach in the future. Good Luck Coach but I have to say Go Stangs on this one.
  20. I really expected some responses by now. Where is heb, gasilla, kicker and the rest of the Mustangs. This is now our second chance to get turf. Lets either get it or stop the complaining that we don't have it.
  21. And I didn't even play football. So go get your football players and the people that continue to complain and get them to donate $1000 and you will be off to a good start. Good Luck td
  22. First I would ask if you voted? Then I would say compare apples to apples and not apples to oranges. How many of those 39 bond elections were for absolutely nothing but turf on a football field? Last but not least we had the chance to vote for it and we didn't. So we could have paid for it ourselves and we chose not to. My alternate plan is as follows, if the turf cost $900,000 then you only need 900 people to donate $1000. So I nominate all of the people that are complaining about the bond not passing to start a list and keep up with it. You can put me first on the list of people that will committ to donating $1000. See how easy this will be, now you only have to get 899 more people.
  23. I got to see Newton for the first time last night and you talk about a disciplined group of guys. Every single player stayed behind the white line on the sidelines. Not once did anyone ever tell them to back up. The coaches stayed off of the field the whole time. Every single time they scored or ran the ball they jumped up and looked for the nearest referee and did nothing but hand the man the ball and run to the huddle for the next play. That being said I still love being on the sidelines with Coach Hooks. I wouldn't trade that experience for anything. He is great to listen to. Buna continued to play hard they were just over matched.
  24. I went to the game last night and 55-10 is as low as Newton could have possibly scored. I'm a 3A guy so I haven't seen alot of 2A games but I was ready to drive back to Orange when the horn sounded for the first quarter and it was 34-0. I'm not sure if Newton is that good (boy they sure looked good) or Buna just had an off night but it was a dominant performance.
