  1. Then maybe the two of us can go take on HJ in the volleyball game on Friday night. Ooops sorry I can't. My daughter is a cheerleader and she needs me to be there so she can help the team win with her cheers. ;D ;D ;D
  2. I'm not saying it's right or wrong. It's not for me to decide but it seems as though it needs to be right in your eyes or it's wrong! No. I am only speaking for myself. It doesn't need to be right in my eyes. Right is right, wrong is wrong. Many folks have posted the same opinion as mine and all think that this is wrong. There are many folks out there that do not stand up and complain when they have been wronged. This could very well be the case. It still shouldn't stop anyone from voicing (or complaining as you put it) about what they think is wrong about this situation. Absolutely! This is a forum full of predictions and opinions and I hope that it stays that way. I agree that many folks have posted as you have but none are affected by this situation. You are also right that it could be the case that they aren't standing up for themselves but I am also right in the fact that might not be the case. It may not bother them at all. No one knows.

  4. Maybe but maybe it just doesn't matter to anyone but the people on here that are complaining! I don't know.
  5. That's a pretty good gig if you can get it. ;D
  6. Perhaps your right---I wonder if the HJ folks who planned on watching their daughters play Friday feel also ---might be considerate to ask them to come watch the WOS football game since their plans have changed.? I would suspect that the 3 girls from WOS that aren't affiliated with the drill team or cheer aren't very happy and their parents probably aren't either but I was just saying we haven't heard from any of those people. This is true, td. But contrary to popular belief, everyone in the Southeast Texas area is not a member of this site, yet. ;D I know but no one was even reported to be unhappy from WOS. Coach or anyone else.
  7. Gabe this volleyball thing got you going, did you play volleyball in Highschool. It was funny td, you know me I'll laugh at anything. No I did not but I stand up for what is right. Just don't think this is right one bit. I'm not saying it's right or not. What I'm saying is that no one that is affected has complained. That I know of. That's why I can't understand all of the discussion. Maybe I just don't know about the unhappy people.

  9. Perhaps your right---I wonder if the HJ folks who planned on watching their daughters play Friday feel also ---might be considerate to ask them to come watch the WOS football game since their plans have changed.? I don't know how they feel. I didn't say there wasn't anyone that had a problem with it. Maybe they do. I said I haven't heard anyone complain. On the other hand maybe just maybe they are excited about the fact that they got a or another district win. Who knows?
  10. Gabe this volleyball thing got you going, did you play volleyball in Highschool. Sorry Gabe, but that is funny right there!
  11. I really don't have a dog in this fight except my kids attend WOS. What I don't understand is that I have not seen nor have I seen where it has been reported that anyone from WOS has a problem with this. I haven't seen where anyone that this is affected (parents, student, VB players, VB coach, cheerleader, cheerleader sponsor, drill team member, drill team sponsor, AD, Super. or school board member) has had a problem or a complaint. I may have missed something though. It seems that only posters on here have a problem with it.
  12. While we are at it (getting the ref's to do things), they should write down the numbers of the starting backfield so that doesn't become a problem when it's time to take them out. This comment in no way is meant to the Nederland Coaches. We tried to give this info to the ref as we do every single game because it always comes up. The guy said it wasn't his job to keep up with that and we disagree with that. We think it is their job and they should do it. He later wanted to know who started in our backfield.

  14. Why were yall running the clock? The clock should never run unless it is agreed by both coaches and an STJFL board member. This usually done with a large lead and the game at hand. Usually it is agreed on by both coaches. Never have I known a board member to be involved. Most of the time if one coach ask to run the clock the the ref's will run it.
  15. Is this PeeWee?
  16. You know everything you read on here is the gospel too, don't you know. ;D
  17. TD, if you can only score 1 point this week, I think you are right. That would have to drop you in the Power Rankings the following week. daddy23, I'm not sure who we play the week after this week but how many points would we have to score that week to get our Power Ranking back up? ;D Three....I dare you to try to beat the next team 3-0. I dont think you can do it. I won't take that dare. Whatever the score I just hope we both come out of it healthy. Good luck. I really want some of that coach that coaches yalls other team. ;D I think he has just about enough people out that we might have a chance against him. With my football knowledge I could probably just out coach him.
  18. Congrats, that's a great accomplishment.

  20. No Orangefield and Kountze
  21. By only winning 1-0 this week we should probably drop in the rankings so with a win yall might move up!!!!!!
  22. Yall will be fine. You did just as I expected you would do, take responsibility. Congrats on the win. Good luck with the parent.
  23. Just a question here, but how do you make a team "ease up" or better yet, how do you define that? Do you kneel the ball on every offensive play? Do you tell your RB's or QB that, if they see open field, fall down? Being someone who has coached a little, I'm just wondering because there are times that you sub out kids who have never even carried the ball in a game and they even score. Sometimes, it can't be helped. I think it's a bit ridiculous to automatically throw out the "running up the score" card. Sometimes, you just have so much more talent or speed that you either score or risk further embarassment for your opponent by kneeling the ball on first, second or third downs. This happens a lot in the youth leagues where that can be a huge difference in a teams abilities. I'm not trying to stir the pot either, and I also don't have a child in this league, but I do read these pages all of the time and I think some folks are way to quick to throw out that a team "ran up the score". There are rules for a lopsided score Gas, that's the best way to keep it respectable. Noboby expects anybody to kneel, that's a ridiculous comment and you know that. If you want to discuss more, PM me. I will start this by saying that I'm glad everyone has said their piece now and have come to an understanding. After reading everything, it appears some things were taken out of context and some jokes between people were misunderstood. TD and WOS 92 are very good friends of mine and I do get offended when I see accusations made about their team. They have a ton of talent and sometimes you just can't help but score. Now Penny, for you in particular. I realize the kneeling statement was ridiculous, it was intended to be. But, it is no more ridiculous than the incessant accusations of running up the score and even more directly, your insinuation that it is something that the WOS team does on a regular basis. The team we speak of is loaded with talent and speed. They have kids who rarely touch the ball that would start for most teams. Sometimes, it's just going to happen, that doesn't mean the coaches have some sort of malice or are breaking the rules. I assure you that those coaches know, because of the ability of their team and the potential for games to get out of hand, that they are under a microscope and go above and beyond to make sure that all I's are dotted and T's are crossed. That being said Good points Gasilla. The WOS football program is a good one and we need to move on. Amen, lets move on.
  24. Congratulations and good luck next week.
