Even if that is the number it is such a small portion of a 23 million dollar budget. 0.069%....if my math is right.... Actually it's .0069% to put this in perspective this is what one percent looks like .01 or 1% of 23 million is $230,000.

They ran for who needed them.

The bond issue came up in the meeting along with some employees that we have that teach a limited schedule. Also was brought up about not replacing 4 coaches last year.

When they talked about this new number. They said it was different than the $25000 that they said it was but it was considerably more than the number presented by Coach Hooks. When it was really only about $7000 more then coach said but $9000 less than what they said. Funny how people can spin things and get away with it.

The interesting thing was that they came up with a new number as far as the cost go. The new cost is $16000 of which they said we have used only $5400 of that so far. That only leaves basketball and track left as far as sports go to take home. I didn't really understand how that could be if football used the buses the most yet we have only used about 1/3 of last years cost.

The President of the school board has 1 vote - He / She is not just a tie breaker. (Sometimes the Mayor of a city votes only to break a tie, but this is school district - not a city) Are you sure? The president of our Lions Club doesn't even vote unless there is a tie. I'm not saying you are wrong. I just wont to be sure you are right. I think I will google Roberts Rules of Order. If you are sure though let me know. Generally in school board votes, all 7 members vote. I hope you are right.

I'm not sure. It's not a huge room but there were people standing and people outside of the room.

Skipper were you there? I was trying to figure out which person you might be.

I'm not real sure.

Not real sure where she was tonight. My guess is had she been there the outcome would have been the same. In my opinion. However the president would have had to vote then.

Dr. Hardin made a motion to rescind the November vote until school was out and then try to find a way to either fund it or do something different and Ricky Jacobs seconded it. There was discussion that didn't amount to much and then they voted. This is where it got strange for me. Nancy Byers wasn't there. So we have 5 voting board members and a president who votes only in ties. Now I hope I'm wrong about my knowledge of Robert's Rules of Order. As soon as the vote was called for the president immediately voted to rescind along with Dr. Hardin and Ricky Jacobs. Then of course the other three (Mitchell, Botley and Barclay) voted against rescinding. We had a Superintendant, a board president, a school attorney and a whole school board. There is no way that I was the only one that knew the president doesn't vote. That's what makes me think they knew the outcome before they voted. It looked alot better to finish in a tie than to say it was voted down. Now it just didn't pass to rescind because there wasn't a majority. I really hope I'm wrong about the president voting. Someone there had to know more about how to run a meeting than I do.

Everyone is defintley entitled to an opinion and if you are in a league that allows that I have no problem with it. You are also correct that your child may be successfull if he moves up, but does the risk outweigh the reward? How many parents will move there Kid up even though they are not ready (Little Johnny got to move up why cant my son?)?Every league board has to make decisions based on the kids best interest, TCYB simply thought this was the best way to proceed for the time being. Then it is the right thing for TCYB.

Are they no longer roster batting? Yes OYBS bats the roster at least through Mustang unless they changed it this year. I can't speak about Bronco and Pony.
-
It's tough to NOT play on Saturday's if you're trying to schedule 2 games a week for all teams and you have more than 8 teams in the league (division) and only one field for that league. With eight teams, you can play 2 games each weekday (Mon, Tue, Thur and Fri afternoon/evenings) and all teams get two games in that week. In the past, in OYBS, in Shetland (5&6 yo) and Pinto (7&8) we've had as many as 16 teams. One year in Mustang (9&10) we had 14 teams and in Bronco (11&12) we had 12 teams. Again, tough to schedule games and avoid the weekend. I know it's hard to do and I have no hard feelings for any decision that the board makes.
-
There hasn't ever been an all-star team picked anywhere that someone didn't like it. I would say if that's your only complaint then the league is doing something right. We are going to miss yall this year but at least we will give someone else a chance to win a championship. ;D So you are saying that as long as you are there you will win the championship??? I seem to recall you being/coaching in my league last year and we won the championship against you.....Mullet!!! Hey everyone stumbles sometime. Don't act like it was a blowout. It came down to the last out and had it not been for you I would have won Pinto and Mustang but you can't win them all.

OK, your starting to sound like some people from another school district! Some people want to see the list and according to law, they have to provide it. It's as simple as that. I would like to see it to see what choices the school has. I have no "hidden agenda" nor do I want to "blast" people in public. This is a public forum and if something is posted on it expect some opinion's. This forum is for discussion. That's what makes America Great!! P.S. I even get along with TD! Ok. Good. Now I have one I can get along with! ;D It's the start of a very long list I'm sure of it. ;D -

Why do you "deserve" to know? What decision do you have in the process? Unless you are on the committee, you have no say as to whom gets hired, so what difference does it make who applies? You elected officials to do their job. Let them do it and don't worry about it. Support your elected officials and support their decision. How will they know if they agree with the decision the board or committee makes if they don't know the choices? These people were elected, you are right. However, how will the people that elected them know if they wanted to vote them back in or not if they don't know if they agree with the decisions that they are making????????????????? You will know by the great job the new head coach does! Not really how a voter wants his or her information, Young Coach. Voters should be fully and completely informed on who or whom they are putting in office to make decisions for them, example, WOS school board voting against the bus issue. You're not a voter on this issue. The only issue you can vote on is who to put in office to make the deicsions. Just like Obama is now the President...there is nothing we can do about it now, until 2012. You can't do anything about what he does until then. Just like you can't do anything about what the hiring committee decides. All you can do is wait until the next election to decide if you want to re-elect them or not. Don't worry...you'll get your list, but there is nothing you can do about it. No need to worry about things you can't control. No one was arguing who was voting on the new coach. Read slower and listen. You spend too much time trying to get your point across that you don't read what anyone else thinks. You made the exact same point I did and as a voter that is what you want to inform yourself with is the information about the people that are in office now. That way you know if you want them back in office. Do they think like me. Do they vote like I would vote. Do they study all options. Do they get all of the information and make sure it's correct or do they just show up and look at the agenda and vote. So what will producing the list prove? If you are asking me, I don't care if they produce the list or not. I do (and this is the point I was trying to make) think the public having that information will help them come election time. -

I would think a good coach would look at this as a great opportunity. A real professional would take pride in taking over a down program and turning it around. (such as Credeour in Lumberton!) Think about the respect and admiration he now has in the community. He built it and deserves all the credit. If the program was loaded and had a history of success would you really need to be worried as much about the hire? I agree with you Green and Bold. : So why don't you leave your successful business and go take one on that has been down for sometime and turn it around. You should really look at that as a great opportunity to turn a business around, if you are a real professional, that is. ;D ;D -

I'm just a winning lottery ticket away from making it happen. You mean that bill that has Woodrow Wilson on it? ;D There better be more than six people for me to feed. A man only has so many hotdogs to offer.
