It rings hollow just as much as people saying that Newton is as good this year as in years past! Simply not the case! Suppose, Lefty99, just suppose that Newton does beat Kirbyville this year - I realize that that event CAN NOT happen in your reasoning - but just suppose it does. Then Newton will have achieved that feat with a team that is inferior to (not as good as) Newton teams of the past. Then what stamp does that put on Kirbyville? I think you should get some district respect but if you have only beaten HF, BC and Orangefield then what are you really looking for? We haven't played Orangefield yet so I will hold my opinion on them. I know the boys are trying very hard and I respect that out of any high school athlete but so far other than Silsbee it has been like boys against men. I really don't mean that to be ugly but I do mean it.

If you are looking for hope then you should find it in that group of kids (9and 10). Maybe it's the coach (the jr. coach) though. ;D Don't tell him I said that though. I think BB (the peewee coach) might even be better. You can tell DL that I said that.

They are very good but they are only 9 and 10 it may be a little too early to start bringing back glory days.

Personally I'm not looking for a scout or a recruiter. I'm looking for convenience for me. My kids love league ball. I think there is alot to be said for playing league with your friends and eating nachos and chasing foul balls. They don't get as much of that in select ball. I appreciate yalls opinion but it must have been a big enough issue for enough people for PONY to change the rule. It's also like that in softball and all select ball. I'm not suggesting it's for everyone but it works out beautiful for my situation.
