The sign was blown down during Humberto. My guess is there wasn't enough damage to even file a claim and that is also what other people thought that I talked to. Now there is another panel down. I am going to call the company that originally built the sign and see what I can find out.

I didn't hear that but I can believe it. I know some more arrived. Fro m what I know they may stay tonight but not tomorrow night or the next night. It would seem to me that they would want to keep a better handle on things than that.

I was thinking this could be a booster club responsibility. Let the club raise the money to fix it and let the school use their funds where it's more needed. Just my 2 cents. I told him I would and could get it done. He said he would take care of it. All I needed was the school to work with me. I didn't need anything other than information from them. Exactly what the piece said that needed to be replaced. Who built it in the first place, etc... I offered to take care of the rest. I would stay on him though..hold him to his word and make it where them kids are proud of there facilities. The problem is there is an easy "out" now. We need to spend the money on the school that was flooded. We need to spend it on this or that. It's hard to argue now.

They are going back to school October 8th. If the athletic program was cancelled I think the student athlete should be able to go play where they want to without any waiting period or without having to get permission from the their school.

I personally went and talked to Dr. Collins myself before the season and asked about that sign and the sign on the press box. He assured me that they would both be fixed. He said they were going to wait on the bond money but instead he agreed with me and said it should be done now. I told him if he couldn't get it done to let me know and I felt like I could get it done but we wanted the signs fixed before the start of the season. The one on the press box did get fixed but not the other one. So if Dr. Collins reads this board like they say he does then he can call me. My name is Tony Dallas and my number is 409-882-1943. I have and will continue to voice my concerns about this. If this had happened at a school where one of my children are they would have been taken out of WOS and enrolled in another school. I wish you knew the paperwork that I had to fill out just so I can walk my child to his classroom at Oates. Not only the paperwork but a background check and I have to sign in and out every morning. That's normally not a problem until they start letting people stay at the school and they don't have any idea if they are on parole or if they are a sex offender. One police officer told me they were checking them but only if they had an ID. Well guess which ones don't have an ID?

Relax. How do you know these people aren't involved. Not to mention this is a place for people to go and give their opinion and that is exactly what they are doing. I haven't read where anyone was just beating up the decision makers. Not everyone has to agree with the decision that was made. They are free to do what they want to do just as all of us are. I'm not sure what my opinion is. I haven't talked to my boys but I will go along with whatever they want. There are alot of us that hunt with our boys and as far as I'm concerned that is just as important as the time I spend with them playing sports. Maybe more important.

where did you get your info? the game is still on for 6 from what I heard. It's not "officially" canceled yet. The game is cancelled. Orange has a mandatory evacuation as of 6:15 this morning.

All of the Bears played until the end. I'm proud of the kids and the community for getting the game back on. I'm also very proud of the Mustangs for playing hard. Now we just have to go get Kville if we get a chance. Congratulations to Hunter Gonzales for playing almost the whole game, What a great athlete this kid is. He will only get better.

Do you really think that when our schedule came out that we looked at it and said this week would be our biggest test? Now it may end up that way but there is no way that was the thought process before the season started.
