  1. 25 points in the 3rd. Impressive!
  2. After seeing both teams play last week, I didn't expect the margin of defeat to be 21 points. Scratching my head and trying to make sense, all I could think of was GCM.....too much dribbling and CHS didn't mind because they like to trap. GCMPats, would you happen to know the district records of GCM and Lee?
  3. Big win. Dayton should be in good position to make the play-offs.
  4. Yes, it may be safe to assume the top 3 spots are taken. I think GCM & Lee are the only teams in position for the fourth spot.

  6. I'm beginning to hear the Jaw's theme song coming from the HILL. :-)
  7. Goose Creek Memorial competed. Nice job coach and ladies.
  8. Final Score: Beaumont Central 57 - Baytown Lee 20
  9. There may very well be a "good win" here or there in 22-5A resulting in a change. I merely opined there won't be "much" of a change - primarily based on what I know about each team's performance up to this point in the season. Yes, next week will be huge with Lumberton clashing with each Beaumont team. Honestly, I didn't give the positioning of the teams in 22-5A significant thought, but allowed my familiarity with each team's style of play to aid in formulating my opinion. This season, Lumberton has frequently scored in the 60's & 70's; multiple times in the 80's; and a few times in the 90's. However, to my knowledge, Ozen and Central are the only teams that have defended Lumberton and kept them in the 30's at the conclusion of the game. In regards to Ozen and Central still having a rematch left, even if Central wins...it's possible the top two spots will remain the same, via tie-breaker resolution. I maintain my opinion that the "top 3 spots in 22-5A" will consist of Ozen, Central, and Lumberton; and, as you indicated above, the third place team playing Barbers Hill. Of course, anything can happen.
  10. Unless there is an upset somewhere, don't think there will be much of a change at the end of the 2nd round of district play. One positive, the girls are having to play each game, which should help come play-offs.
  11. Wow! Tough Loss.... A positive, the girls fought their way back, made the game competitive and came close to getting the "W."
  12. Counsel? Please forgive me....I must have stayed at the Holiday Inn. :-) Interesting that you have these legal questions, but "would not bother to ask that the matter be set on the meeting agenda?" Although your questions are amusing, I think it best I leave them with you and take no issue with you placing yourself in whoever's shoes you find necessary. Again, please forgive me.
  13. Indeed, you may put yourself in the shoes of a HD ISD Board member to illustrate what you are talking about. Fortunately, the real board member will have other Board members and/or the Attorney for the District to perhaps proceed with a bit more caution. Hypothetically speaking, if I were your Attorney, I would caution you about: "I don't even bother to ask that the matter for which the petition is started, regardless of the matter, be set on the meeting agenda." Also, hypothetically speaking, if I were your Attorney, I would caution you about creating the appearance of any form of retaliation in regards to the protesters because it could open a new can of worms that may give merit to that which had previously been without merit. Finally, hypothetically speaking, if I were your Attorney, I would caution you about not taking seriously any and all complaints, at least publicly.
  14. Hopefully, it will all come out in the wash; however, I find it "interesting" that we can so strongly "suggest" what they should have or not done. For example, I would imagine most school districts have a manual or policy to address procedural requirements for initiating complaints or grievances to the Board. Although I have no idea what the protesters are thinking or how they will be proceeding, it could be part of their protest to have a completed petition before deciding whether or not to initiate a formal complaint to the Board and/or whether or not to attach a copy of the petition to the complaint. Surely, a petition alone is meaningless, and should those who are responsible for initiating it fail to come forward to present it, the petition will not only be meaningless, but ineffective and a waste of time.
  15. My thought, independent of whether or not I agree with the protesters, is that I wholeheartedly support their right to protest - a long-standing protection afforded by the U.S. and Texas constitutions. Obviously, the protesters's feelings and beliefs are important and strong enough that they resulted in the online petition. What may be important to them may not be important to me, and what may be important to me may not be important to them. That's what makes America great...the ability for each of us to decide what's important enough to protest. In addition, I wholeheartedly support the Coach/AD's right to administrate and coach his teams as he sees fit. When all is said and done, the Board of Trustees will act, or not act, in the best interest of H-D ISD.
  16. I believe it was the 2006-2007 season when BH moved up from 3A to 4A? Since that time, I think the girls finished district play as District Champions each year? At the moment, looks like BH may need a little help from Humble on Friday against Crosby. Should Crosby get by Humble on Friday.....Kingwood Park and Dayton may be the only teams standing in the way of Crosby completing district play with only one loss, while Humble and BH currently have two. 215A continues to be interesting.
  17. That is a problem. Before speed and size....heart! If kids are wanting out of the program, doesn't matter who you bring.....
  18. Have yet to see either team play this season, however, based on each team's opponents to date and the expected intensity, I will have to go with Ozen by 8 points.
  19. I am going to make it a point of attending one of your games..... Congrats!
