  1. Perhaps I misunderstood the initial question, which I thought pertained to Top 10 "Teams".
  2. Both. Even though BH lost to Legacy and BH should be better. If I am correct, Ozen defeated Legacy 68-65, however, the opinion to date has Legacy #1 and Ozen #4? In my opinion, Legacy earned the privilege of being considered ahead of BH because of the "W". I emphasized "should" because I find it difficult to understand how any team can lose 70-65 and allow one player to score 57 of the 70 points - all but 13.
  3. BH "should" be #1.
  4. One player with 57 points???????
  5. Bleedblue, I hope you are right. I guess this old man still has a lot of ole school left in him which may be one reason I am having difficulty seeing "the vision." Most of my knowledge and experience is on the girls side where we have competed from day one. Unfortunately, we have not competed as well on the boys' side. So, new coach....new facility...returning players? Many many years ago when my friends and I played football, we loved the game and it didn't matter who was the coach or how lavish the facilities or equipment; we played. Back in the day, we didn't have the best facilities or weight room, but we were consumed with getting bigger, faster, and stronger. During summers, we had cement weights inside the burgundy plastic...some of which were taped with gray tape to stop the cement from falling out. But we lift weights at least 3 times a week, rotating to each other's garage, and by our Jr. year we were benching 300 lbs+. While I do acknowledge great coaching is a start, I have to admit that I am having difficulty visualizing quality players west of us passing up North Shore, etc., and those east of us leaving the Beaumont area to come to BH to play football. Returning players? I played junior high and/or freshmen football with multiple good athletes who quit football and decided to come back to play varsity their 11th/12th grade year. No doubt, the time away from the game negatively impacted their play. And, even with great coaching, great facilities, all the quality move-ins to BH, there has been and continues to be, certain folk who have become cynical; and truly believe "the politics" - not only to be disheartening - but a barrier that may have contributed to the mediocrity on the boys' side.
  6. "It's inevitable and as soon as they become the big 5a with a little mixture/flavor as I call it, then it's time to start paying close attention to things going on at the Hill." A little mixture/flavor? Hmmmm.
  7. There's only so much "great" coaching can accomplish....
  8. Canyon defeated Liberty Frisco 41-34 Interesting note: Canyon was 17 of 23 from the free throw line. Liberty Frisco was 1 of 4. Canyon's team foul count at the end of the game was "5."
  9. Weimar is fouled again and back at the free throw line. Time out.
  10. Weimar up 49-41 with 41 seconds remaining. Time out.
  11. Panhandle full court press and trapping half court....fouls Weimar to go to free throw where makes both. 41 secs with 6 point lead.
  12. Weimar up 45-41 with 1:31 remaining. Time out.
  13. Weimar up 42-39 with 2:15 remaining. Time out.
  14. Panhandle up 35-34 with 6:19 remaining in the 4th. Time out.
  15. At the end of the third: Weimer 34 Panhandle 33 This is a very good game. Both teams are fundamentally sound and well coached.
