Don't count Kirbyville out. If Kville beats E Ch. this week then that really tightens everything up. Kville could then run the table and may make the playoffs.  This would put E Ch and Kville at 2-2 in district. Newton beats Kountze and Kountze is 2-2. Woodville has 1 loss but must still plaly Newton. Anuhuac has 1 loss but still must play Newton. I posted this just to make Kvillcats happy.

Kountze lost to Woodville they will lose to Newton, E Ch., and Kirbyville. Don't think that makes the playoffs.

and it was 50 to 12 NEWTON 8th grade over Kirbyville. Could have been worse but Kirbyville begged for the mercy rule.

If you haven't played in their stadium, it is a very nice stadium with art. turf.--located directly behind wal-mart. turn at the red light at the south end of the store, go about 1/4mile to high school and the stadium is on the right and located behind the school. visitor parking and entrance is the first parking area on the right just behind the high school. Very impressive, kirbyville defeating Hunnington (1-9 )last year with 5 returning starters on offense). Especially after Kville rolling over powerhouse Deweyville last week.

VARSITY- NEWTON 6 TDS BUNA 2. did not count the one Newton scored on defense. Then Played 2 quarters, Newton 19 Buna 0. I talked to two Buna varsity players before the game and ask them how they did with their scrimmage last week with Anuhuac. They said they dominated them."We are ready for 3A football".  and as Earl Pitts would say "wake up america". I would have thought by now that they had heard of WO-S, Silsbee, BC, and so on...

Cannot download the video on my dial up connection, but I think you are refering through the era including the 50s when PN-G had the state championship team. My next door neighbor on Toledo Bend Lake (Toledo Village sect 11) (Winston Lafleur) was the all state guard pictured in the book 'down trails of victory" that played on that championship team.

you have to look at the other teams in the state that are usually strong and see what they have lost. a lot of the normally strong teams have lost a lot of good players. Newton's line will be sophmores, the line will be better and as the year goes on they will get even stronger. The skill players are back, the defense will be stronger. 2a ball depends on a little luck with injuries because they do not have the dept of larger class teams. when u have winning programs such as Newton, WO-S, etc.. then a lot of the teams or people like Bunaboy become jealous. I can sure understand why Bunaboy is upset, looking back on the scores of the playoff games Newton had with them. A couple of years in the 3A district you will be disliking WO-S also.
