  1. San Jac game got cancelled with the tournament. TC scheduled to play 4 games in Brenham against Blinn this weekend (Fri/Sat  2-11,12) and a DH Monday at SFA field in Nacogdoches against Alvin at noon on 2/14/11.
  2. Jasper's Derek Sowell is at Texarkana with J. Parson, Ty Parker. Jasper's Sam Alvis and Will Alvis are both at Louisana Tech, and i think LCM"s Shane Waddel is at Angelina in Lufkin. Tyler Ernest and Parker Phillips are both at Tyler JC. Ryan Ellis some where in Arkansas, maybe Henderson State
  3. Not sure on final score but Jasper over Vidor something like 14-5 or 15-4. Pino hits a 3 run hr over left field wall for a 3-1 lead. Close game while starters are in and I had to leave and come back to see late pitchers with walks and hbp's. Jasper will live by small ball this year with timely hits and walk/steal combo's. Dog's did better than expected but this was definately no Hester/ Sowell matchup type game. Good to see some HS action and see the Dog's new faces get some field time. Go Dog's 2011.
  4. The TC Bulldogs are 2-2 while splitting double headers with Wharton County and Temple College. Next up for TC is a game at Navarro against San Jacinto this Saturday ( 2/5 ).
  5. Congrats to Coach Morgan and the Jasper Bulldog fans, it looks like the Board got it right. Defense wins championships, as they say, and it has worked for WOS for many years. I'm sure some new coaches will make their way to Jasper as they would with any new coaching regime. From reading other posts we are getting a good coach with a good background from some quality programs with a large school flavor. The biggest thing for me is the posts from Carthage and his support from that community.
  6. Hope this is true. Carthage has had quality/championship football and baseball in the same years and decade. Someone is doing something right up there in Carthage and it shows.
  7. Mixon and Smith in Jasper put up a lot of wins and put some quality players in college and beyond with some of the finest coaching in Texas. Pretty nice facilities also that shows more about the program than just wins and losses.
  8. TC finished up 2-1-1 with a loss to Panola 11-10 and a tie with Navarro 5-5 yesterday. The A&M tournament was good and most players got to see ex classmates that came to see them play. Time for a baseball break, been going since spring practice of last year but would not have it any other way.  Can't wait for real games in the spring with conference titles on the line.
  9. TC wins both Saturday beating NCTC 14-3, and Weatherford 5-3. Panola and Navarro up today at 3 and 5:30.
  10. Back to back with NTCC today and tomorrow and this weekend at Olsen Field for a tournament to end fall ball. Only thing better than that would be the  Rangers knocking out the yankees. Don't know who else will be there besides TC but probably other Region XIV teams.  Times later when posted.
  11. TC ends up 3-0-1 for the weekend with wins over: TC  7-2  over Paris TC  3-3  tie with Panola TC  10-0 over Bossier Parrish TC  6-2  over North Texas CC The last three games were played with the new bats which are a game changer for sure. The Angelina College field is very nice and a good spot for tournaments.
  12. TC plays Friday at 4 and 7 and plays Saturday at 10 and 1.  Jasper locals playing for TC will be  P  Derek Sowell,  P  Justin Parson and  C  Ty Parker.
  13. Congrats on the win. Something to look forward to in the spring. It can be done.
  14. Tourny in Lufkin at Angelina College Field. Friday                    4      TC vs Paris        7  TC vs  Panola Saturday                10    TC vs BPCC      1  TC vs  NTCC
  15. TC gets two more wins vs Grayson CC in Dennison Wednesday. Split game with scores of 15-3 and 12-7. TP has good game going 2-4 ( dbl, trpl ) 6 rbi,1cs,1po. Next closest games will be a tournament Oct 8,9 at Angelina College in Lufkin. Sure will be glad when spring ball comes and internet radio coverage will be available for us shiftworkers.
  16. Tournament cancelled and two pick up games to fill in and the Bulldogs of TC get two more wins. TP gets his first collegiate HR and is having a blast playing fall ball. We sure do miss the radio coverage and cell phone networks as game times and distances get in the way of watching or having parents there to relay updates, but this is the norm for fall ball. Early Oct. tournament in Lufkin will solve this problem.
  17. Can't be a homer this year and think Hudson wins district with the Dogs coming in second in district. This could change with some part time starters from last year picking it up a notch and taking on a leadership role. District is a little easier this year so the streak should stay intact. What other motivation is needed to leave as your legacy than the continous playoff appearances. Go Dogs, have a good fall and work to improve and represent.
  18. I don't know any scores but it seemed Alvin had more well placed hits than Texarkana and was way more agressive on the base paths  .It might have been 9-6 or something close with Alvin ahead. There was as is usual a lot of pitching changes and TC plays pretty much two seperate teams in a long game with no break and just an umpire change to signify the next game started. I barely know some of the TC players and could not tell anything about the ACC players as who was in or where they played. SFA field was nice, especially the covered seats behind home plate. Jasper's field will spoil one with their covered stands!
  19. New start time is noon Friday.

  21. The Bulldogs are 2-0 this fall with wins of 23-7 and 8-5. Next game this Friday at SFA in Nacogdoches at 1:00 vs Alvin CC. Local players are Ty  Parker, Justin Parsons, and Derek Sowell, all from Jasper.
  22. Texas Prospects Black team won the IBC World Series Championship in Clearwater Florida Friday Evening by the score of 11-3 over the JC Hornets 18. The Prospects beat this team 2-1 in 9 innings earlier today and sent them to the one loss bracket only to play them again for the championship. LSU bound Nick Rumbelow from Bullard pitched for the win. Local players on the team are Ty Parker C and Derek Sowell P/1B, both from Jasper.
  23. Good job and congratulations on a great year to the 12 yo Jasper Bulldog players, coaches, and parents. Thanks also to the KJAS team and the sponsors for the coverage for those who couldn't attend, great job as usual. The future looks bright for Jasper Baseball.
  24. Rained out again at 2. Game tomorrow will send one team to championship to wait on the other two one loss teams to see who makes it to final game/games.
  25. Rained out Wednesday, two games Thursday. Texas Prospects win game one this morning 10-2 with second game at 2 PM.  Ty goes 2/3 with a double and rbi single. Game of undefeated teams at 2 with winner in championship with no losses. Next team has a Vanderbilt signee at 92-93 but I think we can match with a LSU or OU version.
