1. Thanks junkie: Ty Parker, Jasper catcher, gets HR no. 8 tonight, a 2 run shot in Rusk. RBIs at 33 I think so far.
2. Jasper goes to 16-2 with a 10-0 win at Rusk tonight. Derek Sowell starts and goes 6 innings with 10 So,1 inf hit,and 2 walks. I think his SO total is at 66 so far. Sam Alvis closes out the pitching for the Dogs. Defensive POG is Derek Sowell. Offensive POG is a tie with Sam Alvis ( dbl.sgl, 3 rbis ) and Ty Parker ( 2r HR ( 8 ) ,dbl,4 rbis, ). Other Dogs hitting are Nerio-sgl,walk,rbi, Soisson-sgl,walk,rbi, Sowell-sgl,2 walk,Bolton-sgl,2 steals and others I did not get down in time.  Dogs keep up their defensive effort with several double plays and a pick off or two. As usual the Dogs kept any runners at bay with short leads and very few if any free bases.
3. Having seen both Carthage and Hudson this year I can say that they would fare well in 21 3A and probably make the playoffs or alter it somewhat. Jasper has probably played as many 4A teams this preaseason as they have 3A with only one 2A team in Buna. I will agree that Carthage is not as good as last year ( State Champions ) but with their ace, they are still  very potent and will do well in the playoffs this year.  In Jasper we are 14-Hester/2 ( thanks SS ) and 3-0 in district, playing good baseball and getting better every day. Polls will take care of themselves as the season unfolds. GO DOGS
4.   I think JT is a RHP.
5. Colton Burleson looked sharp for 6 innings with 9 strike outs, one walk and pickoff at first. Parker Phillips finishes up the final inning for a 6-0 win for the Dogs. CF Sam Alvis runs down a for sure hit to end the game keeping the shutout in play. Dogs are 3-0 in district with game in Rusk next Tuesday. JV also wins today  in Huntington.
6. Hester pitched a complete game and was just as good as the 2-0 win in WOS. I was hoping he would challenge some of the hitters with such a lead but kept mixing it up very well and kept Jasper's hitters off balance. If he gets to Lamar they will have a fine one.   Jasper started Soph. Jacob Clark for two to three and followed with Phillips and Alvis. Soph. Tyler Bolton finished up the night. I see Hester as the area's best right now until Kirby Bellow gets his feet back under him. It might still be a tie when that time comes. That will be a game to see Vidor/Nederland, just like the two BC/OF games this year. I got to go with Hicks there until he is beat.
7. Tyler Ernest hit his 2nd lastnight
8. Derek Sowell and Tyler Ernest ( walk off ) hit home runs in the Jasper/Silsbee game. Ty Parker and Soph Jacob Clark hit home runs in the Jasper/ Buna game Totals for Jasper: After finish of Jasper Tournament 7 - Ty Parker 4 - Sam Alvis 3 - Derek Sowell 3 - Parker Phillips 2 - Tyler Ernest 1 - Jacob Clark
9.
also Sam Alvis hit a walk off home run
.  It was an RBI triple to win the game
10. Ty Parker hit #7 today and Jacob Clark (Jasper) hit his 1st
11. Josh Clark has hit 3 hrs today in 1st game
12. Ty Parker-6      Hit No. 6 tonight, two run hr. Sam Alvis -4 Parker Phillips-3 Derek Sowell-2 Tyler Ernest-1 Keep it up Dogs
13. Silsbee over Hemphill Livingston over Hemphill Jasper over Livingston 4-1   two run hr Ty Parker      CG Jr. RHP  Colton Burleson Vidor over Buna
14. Both Jacob Felts and Ty Parker are excellent catchers that will play at the next levels soon. Each has different strenghts and highlights and will hurt you if you don't pitch them carefully. Both were picked by 3A baseball.com in the top 25  3A players in Texas to watch this year and hopefully one will be playing at Disch in early June. Good luck to both and lets play ball.
15. If you can't pick the whole  Jasper TEAM, I would say Parker Phillips WOS Tournament MVP, Sam Alvis, and or Ty Parker, both all tourny at WOS Tournament. After 10 games Jasper is allowing about 1 run per game. This is a sign of good pitching, fielding, and catching. If you get a hit it better be a home run or you may be stranded on base. Jasper is playing good team baseball and any one of the 9 may be the next run producers that day. Keep it up Dogs, beat Carthage.
16. Jasper's Jacob Soisson 2nd and P Colton Burleson are in this group and are a big part of Jasper's 9-1 record. Soisson is as smooth and effecient middle infielder as we have had with a good bat also. He will score a lot of runs for us this year between Alvis and Parker and co. Burleson is a true Bulldog on the mound who will only get better and stronger as the year goes. Any junior who has any college ball interest should be proud to go to any level. Some of those juco's will hit the D1 fields and play on a regular basis quicker  by playing everyday and improving each year if they don't go pro first.
17.
Jasper Ty Parker 5 Sam Alvis 4 Derek Sowell 2 Parker Phillups 2 Tyler Ernest 1
Phillips has 3
18. Jasper beats WOS 4-1 with HR's by Tyler Ernest and Derek Sowell. Parker Phillips pitches a complete game. Game two today Phllips continues against Center and the Dogs lead 11-0 in the third. Colton Burleson now pitching for Jasper. Home Runs for Jasper by Sam Alvis (GS), Ty Parker, and Parker Phillips. Looks like a Vidor Jasper rematch.  Jasper has it's first district game Tuesday Carthage) and a home tournament starting Thursday.
19. Trey Hester pitched a very strong game today and Vidor wins 2-0 over Jasper and Sowell.  Good game for both teams and Jasper stayed close with a good job from Sowell as well. Congrats to Vidor for a good game.
20. I'll raise you 10 and bet it is not. His play speaks volumes without tooting his own horn.  Last summer he pitched in the toughest matchups against most other teams aces and played a mean shortstop when he was not pitching. There are probably as many baseball people in Oklahoma who know JOSH CLARK as those in Texas who know the real JOSH CLARK. He will be playing on TV as soon as any other 2010 player in this area I am sure. That's who Josh Clark is!
21. Good day for the Bulldogs with 8-1 win over Vidor and 17-4 win over Buna. In game two Soph. Jacob Clark pitched 3 innings and Sr.  Sam Alvis finished up the final two innings. Home runs for Ty Parker and Sam Alvis. The pair had a hr in each game today. Excellent hitting throughout the lineup in game two with key hits by Ernest,Soisson 4-4,Phillips, Alvis,Parker, and several others.
22. Derek Sowell pitches a complete game for the win 8-1. Ty Parker 3-3,hbp with solo home run. Sam Alvis with a solo home run also.  Dogs hit well throughout the lineup, with Soisson and Ernest with key rally hits. Buna up next for Dogs after they play Silsbee.
23. Jr. Colton Burleson pitched 5 innings for Jasper in game two against Silsbee. Sr. Lefty Sam Alvis finished the game. Solo home run for catcher  Ty Parker.
24. Any scores/updates on the Hudson games?
25. According to Jasper's (PPG- Palm Pilot Guy-BD), Sr RHP Parker Phillips pitched the complete game and got the 3-2  win. Tied in the sixth Ty Parker gets a double to center and Tyler Ernest gets him in with a single. Jasper holds on for the win. Good pitching Phillips, next game at 7 I think probably against Silsbee.
