Wildcat Fan Question. How much is enough?
Lefty99 replied to TrueCatFan's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Coach Alvarez did the right thing IMO. It was good to see the younger kids get into the game in the 2nd half and get some valuable experience. Not long ago it wasn't until the playoffs that the younger kids got ANY playing time when they were on the wrong end of the score. Every little bit helps and what he did the other night was the right call. The entire team will benefit from it even though it may have been a lesser opponent. With younger guys getting a little varsity action come playoff time they can be counted on if the need arises because of the experience. "It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it!" I can promise you from the way they younger kids looked they took in every moment and chance they got and didn't complain a single iota. As Grad said you need your starters to stay sharp. Yank them early and it would be like they didn't play for 3 weeks and that my friend is not a good thing. -
Anybody get anything yet? If so post some pics. I am still working on my first kill of the yr. Hope to have some game cam pics this weekend. I was a little late in geting a camera and will have it out there this week.

I sure miss the Hill Country and S. Texas hunting. One of these days I'll get back down there.
-
Yeah Kats I'll be working the game. Not sure what radio station it will be on. Again, will let you know.
Huntington will not score unless the Wildcats let them.... Kirbyville will score as many as they want.... This one will be over as soon as Alvarez lets them off the bus...
I was thinking before they leave for the game...and to think I am driving up there from PA and then back to Bmt that night! Freaking Hazwopper class on Saturday! >:(

He and the passing game have gotten better each week and that is very dangerous thing for opposing teams in the coming weeks. At the rate they are going they will be hard to beat that's for sure.

To my knowledge he came straight from West Sabine to Kirbyville. 2000 was his first yr at Kirbyville
I can admit it. Kville was the best team last night. No doubt. Good luck to both teams the rest of the season. I hope we get another chance at Kville.
Most fans see it this way and my hats off to those that call it that way. I was glad to see WOS play with so much deisre last night. I knew they would but it made me proud to be in that staduim for the biggest game (in magnitude) of the year for our area. Great turnout also. Almost had the old stadium filled to capacity. I have to admit that the tribute to Reggie on their first play gave me a few chills.

I missed this game, but i was told by some friends that some of the Jasper players said Center was the best team in our district and Jasper was going to beat us just like last year. :D I wouldn't get so cocky after getting thumped by Orangefield.
I don't know that anyone from Jasper would make that foolish of a remark, either before or after the Orangefield game. Center, despite their record, is a good team and will probably provide the Wildcats the stiffest opposition in district. But Kirbyville, barring some mishap, should certainly be 10-0 when the playoffs come around.
Agreed Grad. I was expecting Center to give Carthage a better game last Friday with Carthage being a kind of Jekyll and Hyde team this yr but it seems they (Center) may play that roll also. Center should be Kirbyville's toughest district opponent come week 10.
We'll meet again, and the QB will be even better!
A little over confident that you are going to roll through the playoffs and you haven't even played district. One game at a time Coop. Most of know that there is that possibility but there is alot of football between now and then and anything can happen....to either team. WOS has had a problem with the first round here recently. ;)

Do really need this thread? lol
lets go on to out next game ITS OVER ok
I do have to agree with you Skipper. Even though I've put my .02 into it I'd rather all this stop and lets move on as both teams have already done. Good luck in district WOS. From the looks of it Orangefield is pretty tough and BC is a very good team.

Although it will probably cost me Karma I am going to go ahead and say what I want to say and let the cards fall where they may. Wos fans were great, Players showed alot of heart and played a good game. I was suprised we did not catch a penalty on the TD catch but the ref was right there and he did not call it. There was alot of holding that never got called and that laderal was dropped so once again the reffs made mistakes on both sides of the ball. Now heres where I stick my hand in the wasp nest. As much respect those boys (on both sides) and LCM and all of the fans showed. Dan Hooks and all of the coaching staff at WOS should be embarrassed by their behavior. One coach actually ran on the field jumped up and down and through his clip board down. They were on the field screaming most of the game. He would have been ejected from most any other field in the area. His team showed sportsman ship and control where him and his staff did not. There were calls I am sure he did not like and the same for the Cats. IMO he showed very poor judgment on how to handle things when your not happy with how they are going. Smite me if you want but I think the bad Karma should go on Hooks.
You would have been on the field to if you would have been hosed that bad.
Oh come on Coop! Are you serious? There were bad calls on both sides of the ball all night. On one WOS scoring drive there was a blatant tackle by their RT on the Kville DE. The problem is you can't admit that WOS got beat by a better team last night! Ok take the long TD pass that should've been an offensive pass interference (I admit it) and Kirbyville still wins the ball game. Give credit where credit is due if you have the class that you say you have! ::)
#43 scored right before the half...looked like Darren sproles there in the first half. #3 is burmine ervine...REMEMBER THAT NAME??? We told y'all!
And to think Haywood didn't get going real well tonight. Great game to call and I am glad it picked up in the 2nd half. They first half was tough to call and watch. WOS will be fine when Salter gets as little more comfortable with the offense. As for the Cats I was very impressed with the way they came out and played in the 2nd half. The passing game keeps getting better each week and that is going to make this team alot hard to beat down the road.

I went but the deer didn't cooperate >:( Talked to a few people and they saw some deer but never got close enough to shoot. I planned on staying in the blind till about noon but the wind picked up pretty good so I called a day at 10:15. Needless to say I saw 2 does between Buna and Evadale on the way back to Bmt. Figures! >:(
i hope y'all tear it up... be sure to post some pictures if y'all shoot something so i can live vicariously through you!
I hope I do get something and I will post pics for you no matter what may fall. ;) BTW, I like the new name. I see it's a trend and may have to consider it myself. ;)

It's funny talking about SB rings because my supervisor waas in Ohio and went to Canton yesterday. He said that they have William "Refigerator" Perry's ring there and it was a size 23! Most grown men are about a 10-12. -
who will have the most impact on our big school game of the week-----Mark Roberts (wos) or Fred Ford (kville). IMO kville has no one that can cover Roberts and WOS has no one that can catch Ford in the open field after he gets to the second level.
Roberts will have to run out of the "Wildcat" formation to have the most impact IMO.
