I finally broke down and got rid of my whisker biscuit.  Got the QAD LD last weekend and had it installed.  Tighter groups and alot less noise!  Hope to finally knock something down instead of spook it! ;)

I stumbled on it about 20 minutes into it and hit the record on the DVR.  Great documentary that Kenny Chesney actually directed.  I will look for it and record the whole thing as soon as I can find it in the listing on my Dish.  Not sure if any of you noticed but they had music from the movie Friday Night Lights near the end.  It gave this old dog a few chills.

Newton 29 Kirbyville 26 [/quote] Any logical thinking football fan knows that the 1st game of every season can be tough.  Not always but can be.  There are jitters (if you think there isn't you are lying to yourself) and it being the first game has alot to do with it.  Especially with the history between these two schools.  As for their QB he may very well be better than Halston but with that said losing a leader like him takes time to replace.  Both teams will be ready but with Kirbyville beating a good Coldspring team helps tremendously.  Not to mention Kirbyville's defensive front will most likely be more than Newton can handle.

Hard to call this game so early in the season.  Week 10 is much easier to predict than week 2.  Both teams will be ready but IMO the key to this game will be the play of the new QB for Newton.  Losing Flannigan to graduation was a big loss to Newton but they will be ready.  I do have to give the early edge to Kirbyville based off the fact that they have a game and the jitters under their belt.  I know that Coldspring scored alot on Newton in their scrimmage but that was a scrimmage and this is a different ball of wax when these two teams meet up.

Kirbyville was sloppy and out of sync for most of the night on offense.  The defense really cranked things up a notch and put the clamps on those speedy backs...Bryant and Cummings.  Scott their QB could run than dang draw off the right to a T!  Coldspring will be fine as the season progresses.  Both teams came out of this with a lot of work for the next week.

I am leaving work in about 6 mins to be exact and then will be headed to Coldspring at about 5pm to broadcast Kirbyville v Coldspring here on setxsports.com live at 7:30pm!

I would love to go see the Gilmer/Carthage match up later in the season for the district title...I know it's early but we can pretty much count on it being the district title game.

Ozen has an enrollement of 1200 to Kirbyville's 410...didn't Ozen dress somthing like 44 to Kville's 24?  There's a bit of a difference there.  3.  They are called "scrimmages" for a reason.  Kirbyville will be fine.  If they (Kville's D-Line) could control Ozen's O-Line I think they can handle their own against Coldspring.
