The stadium at San Marcus has multiple Railroad tracks at the north end and they blow their whistles loudly and for a long time every time they go by. And there will be many passing during the day. Kirbyville supporters will need hearing protection for the game(I'm not kidding). IMO one of the worst placed stadiums I have ever been to. The rail traffic literally shakes the stands as the trains go by. I was never on the field, but I would think you could feel the same shake on the turf. Beautiful stadium in a really bad location. I will listen and support Kirbyville in Bon Wier.
Have you heard the Kville train horn in parades and such? Not football games. They are used to it. But you are right...there is alot of traffic on them.

I can remember coach saying if you saw white on the lineman's knuckles....run, no white...pass.

Alverez Turns Kirbyville From Winless To Winners
Lefty99 replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Sadly I have to admit that I was a part of one of those winless teams in 98. With saying that I couldn't be happier for the program and what he has done for that town and school. It is an honor to be able to see both sides of the spectrum. As I told a former coach at the title game last year. "I never thought that I would see the day when this program got to this point"! -
I don't live in SE Texas any longer...Could someone give me info on this young man (school, position, year, etc...)?
Kirbyville HS, LB, Sr. Not real sure on his actual size but a good strong athlete but for the most part lacks the size to play that position at a major college, IMO. Who knows though. I would say McNeese, Lamar, etc. Love the way he plays the game!

KIRBYVILLE 34 PILOT POINT 32 If it came down to a 2 point game do you think Coach Alvarez would let #11 Matt Russell kick the field goal for the win or go for the touchdown??
Alvarez wouldnt kick a field goal to win if Robbie Gould was his kicker he would go for a touchdown but thumbs up to matt he is good kicker
I have to agree with you speedkills. He an all or nothing coach!

They mixed up the offensive plays to keep the Comfort D guessing, kept the mistakes to a minnimum and the 'Cats D had a fantastic night. Ford just had to keep them occupied (and still had over 100 yds) which gave others a chance to make big plays. Just play it like that again and things should go well for them.
I agree, Kirbyville will have to be balanced on both sides of the ball. They'll need to keep an eye on Seth Tilley, their quarterback. Everybody talks about Jarman Johnson and the Wildcats can't let him run loose. But if they load up on him, Tilley will make them pay because he can throw (and he spreads the ball around) and he can run. On offense, just like last night and against Arp, they are gonna have to stay balanced. They can't just count on Ford to get the plays, guys like Kael, Caleb and JaMichael will have to come up big.
I agree with you WOSgrad...Kville will have a lot on their plate..Johnson the RB has 2,727 rushing yds,They have another one with 1,600 yds..And Tilley is like you say...He can throw and from the stats on him he don't have a favorite reciever..Kville is gonna have to get hard down Mean( of course legally)..If They will do what they did with Comfort,Stay focused, play hard every down,Keep the penalities down..They can bring home the State Trophy..!!! "GO HARD KAT'S, BRING IT HOME.!!
Who has 1,600 yds?
QB I believe
I think the QB Tiley has 1,100 rushing and 1,600 passing.

Don't think they are a one-trick pony either. Stack the line and the QB will throw it over the top on ya. Trust me, don't take this team lightly like yall did Muleshoe last year.
That is understood about PP and I can promise you that Alvarez will have the team ready and focused! If anyone is taking someone lightly I feel that PP may take Kirbyville too lightly. Might not be so but I call it as I see it too. ;) Not sure if you realize it but Kirbyville is not one trick pony either. Scooter, and Kville isn't VERY good? I am not looking at this game with "Rose Colored Glasses" either. I know PP is for real but I can assure you that they are beatable just as Kirbyville is. We all know what they have but you talk as if Kirbyville doesn't belong in the same stadium as them, hoping that you are wrong about your prediction. WE all know more about PP this yr than we did about Muleshoe last yr and that alone will benifit this team.
I can promise you that PP isn't taking Kville lightly...How can they take a team lightly that put up 60 in the semi-finals?
Reg 4 is weak and everyone knows it! That's not an excuse it's just the plain truth. Big O-line's aren't always the key to winning a game. I honestly don't think they have faced a defense as good as Kirbyville's.

I said that I wouldn't do it but I'll bite and let it out. There is something about this team that is much different than last yrs team yet eerily similar to a team the Wildcats played last yr. This team plays with more gut and purpose than last yrs team. The team that they are similar to IMO is Muleshoe's title team...yes, I said it. Muleshoe went through last yrs run with a huge chip on their shoulder and this Wildcat team is on that same path and play with the same reckless abandonment as Muleshoe did last yr. I am in no way guaranteeing a win but if you take this team lightly they will beat you, ask Arp who was ranked ahead of both Kville and PP all yr! They weren't going to be here by all accounts but as most of us SE Texans have seen ever since the WOS game they have improved every week. I wish both teams the best of luck this week and for a good clean hard fought game! I'll take the underdog in this one. Kville wins a thriller!

I was looking at texasfootball.com and their "revised" picks because most of their brackets are shot now and they have Brady willing it all. Said Kirbyville will experience 2 straight title losses and that Ford has had a "pretty good season"! Like those quacks know what they are talking about after botching their initial brackets. It's a joke that they expect people to rely on their predictions.
